***SPOILERS*** I'll be brief. No matter how patriotic these types of show want to be, they (much like all the reality-car shows) invariably screw it up by forgetting a basic fact. You do not stay nice and clean during, and after a violent engagement with an enemy. Or working on a serious auto repair... Just check it out. They don't wanna mess up the correct clothing with grease and crud that is all over the "project" they're working on.
Take this episode - "Fubar". When they are in the vill, during the fight, and especially after, the SEALS are all well dressed, and just so squeaky clean that anyone would think that their moms were right there to do their ironing. Go ahead and let the guys grow beards and talk tough. The directors need to pay much more attention to the script advisors that they hire. These guys should be covered in sweat, dust, dirt, everything they crawl around in when they are fighting for their lives, to say nothing about the blood, brains, and general gore they will naturally pick in these close quarters fights. This is a major oversight.
The action is always good, and the acting ain't bad. They guys never seem to get good and dirty. Tonight, when they were leaving the scene of the slaughter, they were neat, clean, and their gear was even secured perfectly. No mud, no blood, no effort to even smear the kind of crap you cannot avoid in country all over the combatants. A 5, at best.
