Romantic fantasy
lmerana14 April 2018
The backstory is not that good. It couldve been finished with 16 episodes but it was made into 20 episodes. The ending is not typical but it does make sense. Kim RaeWon is very romantic, I like him alot whenever he delivers his romantic line. The love chemistry between the two leads is topnotch.

The ending marred an otherwise rather unique fairytale

Supernatural themes is not our genre but have found this relatively easy to watch except for the ending. Felt hasty with an accelerated timeframe - the subtitles could've been used to show the passage of time.

The ending marred it.

Terrible drama

Horrible storyline worst acting of the main actress Haera Producer wrongly chosen main femare actress. Her face too antagonist far away from typical lead cast

The male lead cast a bit better he can play mysterious black night..

I am even considered 2nd lead actress played really great acting as antagonist character. she get all well

Kim Rae-Won delivers!
shareen_shany1 January 2022
At the 6th episode I wanted to stop as I am unsure if i like the leading actress in this drama. Nothing is for free, there is a price for everything! That she has no dignity. She is pretty good in 'The bride of Halbaek'.

I continue watching only because of the leading actor RWK he is so good in the 'Doctors' & he is also cool & debonair here too! He is truly good here. Now 2 dramas with him, he is definitely on my watch list!

Actually it is good though its a little fantasy with romance, betrayal thrown in as usual in kdrama, it has a love storyline.

But the ending is not as expected & it drags to a sad ending.

Seo Ji Hye is beautiful here but the story isn't sufficient for 20 episodes
phd_travel11 July 2020
There are some good points about this series that just about make up for the bad points. The opening episodes in the former Yugoslavia are pretty. The story that happened hundreds of years ago is more interesting than the present day romance. Also the redevelopment issue is boring. The mystery about his father's death is too drawn out. Shin Se Keung looks better in the old fashioned costumes than present day. She doesn't have much chemistry with Kim Rae Won who looks too old for her. Kim Rae Won doesn't act very expressively. The supporting cast are better. Seo Ji Hye of Crash Landing on You is amazingly beautiful and stylish here as a witch. Every scene she is in features her in different outfits. She literally steals every scene she is in and if not for her I would have given up on the show. There simply isn't enough story for 20 episodes it gets repetitive and weak. The biggest flaw is the lack of chemistry between the two leads. Was rooting for Seo Ji Hye's character instead. The ending is so weak with zero emotion. Not a must watch.

Worst plot - illegal affairs
showfinefashions10 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Worst K drama ever, people who are in illegal affairs will like this drama. Never expected such worst theme would encourage by some groups. I feel pity for villain lady, everyone hates her. Eg: unworthy employees, judges worthy employees. The villain lady deserves better man. The heroin is worst witch, how could she likes n wears someone's wedding dress, the hero is shameless coz he has crush on servant lady, he abandoned his wife. Main leads are like foxes in sheeps image.
