Don't listen to all the hate.

Warning: Spoilers
This season has been great thus far. There have always been lots of laughs when watching. I know it's not quite the same without Erlich Bachman, however, Silicon Valley is still great, even though Bachman's not here. All you haters, find something in the writing or acting to bash, because I for one, still love this show and find it really entertaining.

Are Christian viewers really this stupid?
crazelord22 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Most negative responses are butthurt Christians thinking the episode is attacking them. They don't realize it's making them actually look like the disenfranchised and everyone else is close minded.

And it's a parallel to how religious institutions would treat people LGBTQ people historically, basically showing how it would feel in reverse but it still presents the Christian character as the victim. It's so on the nose that it's shocking how they miss it. And the episode ends with the idea you should be tolerant of everyone.

But I'm honestly not surprised from a group that lacks the self awareness of following a dead hippie preaching peace and love and use him to undermine the rights of other people (the episode isn't but I am taking shots at them).

The only thing you can say was satirizing religion is the Gavin Belson storyline, but even that's just done in good fun and is about how people interpret things not a shot at religion itself.

Just not the same without erlich bachman

I wish they got gim back on the show. Without him the show has really lost its funny edge.

Compared to season 1 or 2 this season is nowhere near the bar they set. The jokes aren't funny and the characters have become mere caricatures. I hope it improves but so far things aren't looking good :/

Totally off brand
tinyfordst11 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The series has been good so far, but for some reason a bunch of comedian writers felt the need to weigh in and giving their totally biased and totally unsubstantiated opinions on some of the biggest philosophical debates man has ever faced as well as the 21st century.

It is the place of the show to entertain, to make jokes and to keep the fans happy, not to be the equivalent of Christian Anti-semites and not to be preachy on how to treat homosexuals.

I hope the writers realize their mistake sooner than later.

Great

Felt compelled to leave this review after reading the negative ones here. It's a great episode, funny as hell (as always) and a nice look at the changing belief systems in a modern America. And for those complaining about some anti-Christian messaging, it's satire and it works. You can't satirise the powerless and there is no way Christians are powerless in America.

Middling episode, with a lazy 'satirical' premise, that panders to the ego's of mainstream USA

Warning: Spoilers
Maybe in a way the atheist intellectual liberals of the tech industry are just as bigoted as christian fundamentalist conservatives, hmmmm makes you think doesn't it, well no, because what happens in the episode is not even an exaggerated version of what happens in liberal atheistic industries, it's just a straw man made to help the average not so liberal certainly not so atheistic person feel better about themselves and sadly once you take out the lazy religion jokes the rest of the episode doesn't really hold up either, it's all a bit crap in an other wise often consistently witty show.

For a show that normally scores a 10 with me
boardy-551036 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The hatred displayed against other human beings, in this episode ,by our main protagonists ,is staggering. Please watch this episode and insert the word Muslim or Jewish , every where the word Christian is said. And then tell me it's funny? ? Religious bias? I thought HBO was better than that. Extremely disappointing.

Doesn't make sense.

Warning: Spoilers
It just doesn't make sense.

Ying Yiang can't build his new internet. He can't use the patent. So what's the big deal? You have to know when to be funny and when to make sense.
