  J'onn J'onzz : We have reason to believe that Reign is on her way here.

  Supergirl : Which means this house isn't safe. We need to get you out of it.

  Patricia Arias : She's her, isn't she? My Sam is Reign.

  Supergirl : How do you know?

  Patricia Arias : [leading them into Sam's bedroom]  I, uh... I never told her where she was from. I... I just wanted her to be normal, and then when she was ten, she started doodling all over her books. It was like something inside her just needed to get out, and I punished her for it. I grounded her, and I tore up the pages.

  [she pulls a section of wallpaper from the wall, revealing a drawing of Reign's sigil] 

  Patricia Arias : So she drew it on the wall to spite me. When I saw the same mark all over the news, I knew.

• Patricia Arias : All I ever wanted to do was to protect her. That's all I ever wanted. When we bury things... and I should've known this, but... when we bury things, they come at you even harder.

  Supergirl : What Sam's become has nothing to do with the way she was raised.

  Patricia Arias : I was an awful mother. I kicked her out. I've never even met my granddaughter.

  J'onn J'onzz : Uh... we need to... get you out of here before she comes.

  Patricia Arias : No, if she's coming here, I wanna be here when she does. I kicked her out when I should've helped her. I am not gonna turn away from her now.

• Patricia Arias : Sam! Sam, I know you're in there. I know my daughter's in there. And I need her to understand, you are not this monster. You are kind and good. You are everything that I wasn't. You're not this. Honey, if you're istening, if you can hear me, I need you to rise up! Not for me. Not for me, Sam.

  [holding up a picture of Sam and Ruby] 

  Patricia Arias : This is for Ruby. For your daughter.

  Reign : What did you do for your daughter?

  Supergirl : [Reign stabs Patricia with her claw-like nails]  No!

  Patricia Arias : I love you, Sam. I forgive you.

• Supergirl : Patricia? Hey. Stay with us.

  Patricia Arias : When you see Sam, you'll tell her that I'm sorry. That I should have held her close. And tell Ruby... tell her that her grandmother loved her. Promise me.

  Supergirl : I promise.

• Supergirl : Patricia Arias, we need to talk to you.

  J'onn J'onzz : Let's go.

  [entering the house] 

  J'onn J'onzz : Mrs. Arias?

  Patricia Arias : [in another room]  Francis Pierce, I told you that the next time I caught you in my house looking for pills, I was gonna put a hole through your thieving hand.

  [she pumps a shotgun as she enters; seeing who it is, she lowers the weapon, surprised] 

  Patricia Arias : Supergirl.

• Supergirl : [deleted scene]  No, what you did or didn't do, had nothing to do with Reign. She is an entirely different being than your daughter. And the daughter you did raise, she's... a brilliant businesswoman... an incredible friend, and an... an amazing mother.

  Patricia Arias : [nods tearfully]  Thank you.
