Crime show or autobiography?
paddyboy-3693419 December 2020
With any good documentary or even true crime show, the best are those in which you rarely see the person documenting. In this case, so much film is totally wasted as the viewer is forced to watch the host of the show. I watched a few episodes and was done. The stories aren't even that compelling. The host is featured prominently in at least 50% of the show. Film that really should be used to properly document the facts, is shamefully wasted filming the host. In Maryland we call this an "Over cooked Ham" YAWN It really has to be said this host, in her quest for fame, does the victims and the families of the victims NO justice.

Are you a reporter or a PI.

No one wants to know your history, just the story line. The case is resolved and you weren't involved.

This true crime show is great!

Host Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi is awesome! Empathetic, caring towards the families and friends of the victims and super knowledgeable with the detectives and prosecutors. I'm hooked!!

Terrible host
ebeth-0599222 May 2019
Interesting concept and love all other ID shows but this host is flat - has to show bra and tank tops in lame attempt to at least gain male interest but she is simply cold and boring. Comes across as false. I have to turn the channel off every time this show comes on because she is just off- putting. I don't believe in shaming people and do want to say she might be an excellent prosecutor or expert in her prior job - but she smacks of cheapness on tv - not trustworthy or interesting or actually interested in victims.

Better than some of the reviews would lead you to believe

Pretty good show. A lot of the criticism seems to be personal, directed at Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi, rather than the show itself: complaints that she gets too much screen time, reviewers questioning why her own past cases aren't presented (which surely wouldn't please the people who think the show's already too much about her), and accusations that she would be glad to lock up an innocent person as long as it was a personal victory for herself (zero evidence to back that up). And finally, the complaints that the show is just boring, with zero excitement. Hmm, I just watched an episode where the killers attempted to slaughter an entire family, stabbed the mother 11 times, shot a grandfather in the face, put a pillow over the face of the husband and shot him twice in the head, and finally shot a little baby behind the ear... yawn, yeah, very boring. I could be wrong, but I suspect that at least some of these complaints might have something to do with the fact Anna is a very attractive woman. People can be funny.

I enjoy the one-on-one's with victims and law enforcement officials. It makes it all very much more personal to see just how much the lives of these people are effected by these crimes, and that much more satisfying when the killers are brought to justice. Two thumbs up!

Not impressed from day one....
wongieteam1 May 2019
I am an ID (Investigation Discovery) addict and like most of the series/shows they broadcast are good. "True Conviction" is very boring and I can't watch 5 minutes of it. I gave S1 a chance and it has no excitement, no good stories, and it is a good time to take a hour nap. Anna Sigga Nicolazzi has no personality and seems fake. I am surprised they brought her/this series back when there are other great shows that have yet to return.

Convictions
saypardner2 May 2019
You claim to have been doing this for two decades yet have only amassed a quantity of 30 homicide convictions. What kind of track record is that? Why don't you try and aspire to that of someone like Lieutenant Joe Kenda? Just sayin'.

why isn't she presenting her own cases?
ricewithaspoon7 June 2019
I fail to understand why she is 'hosting' this series. the cases are solved. her questions bring no additional insight - they could have taken anyone narrating this. I think she should have built on her own cases as a premise for this.

i'm asking myself, why the hell, as a former homicide prosecutor! is she doing this now? the only logical explanation for me would be: it's her hobby? & bc she is married to the channel-boss.... idk.... - i wouldn't recommend it...and i watch A LOT of crime-s***

Very boring and hard to watch despite being a true crime show
smartbendo20 September 2021
It is more of a long interview than a documetary series. If you cut the host parts and concentrate on the story itself, make the episode 20 minutes shorter. It might be watchable.

Very interesting cases that haven't been covered to death
lauriekester0719 March 2021
I can't relate to all the personal, negative comments directed at the host. The narrator and/or host is important, but I don't care whether they are her cases or not or if she (allegedly) has a shady past. She doesn't bring that to the show & IMO is 1 of the most subtle hosts I've seen. Even her voice & makeup are subtle, unlike other hosts. I actually like her interview style & the way she personalizes some of the questions. It shows an empathy that is missing with many narrators & hosts & draws out strong, honest reactions from the interviewees. I do not lose sleep over whether she really means it deep down inside. I'm here for the cases & victims.

The cases on this show are very interesting & haven't been covered to death. More importantly, they talk to all the people involved in the crimes, down to witnesses, 911 operators, neighbors, etc & don't do all the dumb, long re-enactment scenes w/actors. Give me the real victims & heroes of each case every time please!

host has convictions based on lies not justice
argosino-1102718 May 2019
Terrible host, terrible show. When the tag line was, I've never lost a homicide case that said it all. It's about my wins, not justice. if the real murderer came in with the bloody knife, a confession,, video tape of the crime, she would still keep an innocent man in jail and the judge would back her up.

S2.E3 A Mother's Nightmare
firballblaze-696892 May 2019
I guess he will sit on death row for the rest of his life because our failed judicial system don't like to put people who deserve it, to be put to death. I have a request for this peckerhead. If they do actually decide to put him down, please publicize it so we can all watch and applaud when it happens.

It's all about her , the host is awful!
julejule-848389 March 2022
If she isn't flipping her hair or wearing shirts that show her navel ??!! She's in her 40's for goodness sake not a teenager. She never comes across as sympathetic, actually more bored . This show is more about her talking and not the crime show at all .

Done with this show for good !!

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SHOW
laurawong-3389122 February 2021
This woman is despicable. Just do a quick google on her name and you'll realize this is the last show anyone should watch and support. Disgraceful.

Such a horrible woman. Always starts with how she knows as a prosecutor bla bla bla. People like this arise more and more these times, we gotta make it stop or its gonna be the next normal thing. We cannot accept such dissociative b****es.

Great interview style/gives a personal touch

Presentation is great and stories are very touching. I have watched pretty much all the true crime documentaries available and I'm not sure why such negative reviews. Presentation and story lines keep me interested.

Better than reviews here say
jennijune-18-2685299 March 2022
I actually really like this show! Not sure why the ratings are so low. I love this genre, and I think Anna-Sigga is a great host. Interesting stories, and she is a thorough and compassionate interviewer.

You are missing the entire point
nbdnfkmw24 November 2022
A lot of negative reviews of this show are completely unfounded and not based in any logic. Anna Sigga Nicolazzi is heavily featured on purpose! She has a unique perspective and brings much more than just investigative reporting to the table. She has been on the side of prosecuting these cases when they go through the justice system and can speak to that first hand. I think it's very interesting and a well done show. The rude comments are unnecessary are blatantly sexist. She's matter of fact and intelligent and not super bubbly and smily so she must be boring. If a man was doing all the same things he probably wouldn't get any of those remarks. I find her to be very sincere and genuine and the cases are presented respectfully.

Great Show Last Night!
marycruser27 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed last night's show - "For the Love of Money." The assistant district attorney Laura Murphy was awesome! She was professional, witty and attractive. I enjoyed the way she told the story from her own experience being there at the crime scene all the way to the when the jury handed down the guilty verdict. It was interesting to hear how they solved the crime as a team. It was touching to see how kind the officer was to Beatrice and helped her do the right thing. I would welcome seeing this prosecutor in more episodes!

To many commercials
mommybishop20 April 2022
Great show but for some reason the ID network plays way to many commercials between episodes. Each episode dives into a case and talks to different investors or members of the investigation team, it's so fascinating to hear from different sources.
