- Louisa and her staid cousins attend Aunt Hermione's funeral in rainy Bournemouth, which Larry misses, staying with a group of Bohemian artists - including author Henry Miller - in London. Louisa decides to follow him and soon finds herself a centre of attention before the couple return to Corfu. Here they find that Gerry has rescued an ill-treated donkey and newly-appointed policeman Leslie's attempt to ward off marauders has nearly ruined Margo's relationship with Zoltan.—don @ minifie-1
- Would be-author Larry gets a visit at the communal home of his Bohemian 'artist' friends from his mother, after aunt Hermione's funeral. She accepts to stay the night with them and even engages in a folly affair with a libertarian artist, but having bartered his socks for a hideous jewel proves a challenge when her cousins Gerald and Margo anxiously come claim it, being the expensive prize heirloom from Hermione's otherwise worthless estate. Larry meanwhile considers whether to return to Corfu. There firstborn knave Leslie finds his siblings far from obedient, soon regrets the alarm-triggered gun he installed hearing about a theft wave and turns himself in after it accidentally shoots a visitor, but the police superintendent praises his civil responsibility and suggests to his delight a career in Greek law enforcement. Gerry can't stand how badly Greek farmers treat their donkeys and starts a campaign while a neighbor just hands him his outlived one.—KGF Vissers
