- Carrie arranges a meeting. Haqqani finds trouble at home. Saul cuts a deal.

In the White House, Chief of Staff David Wellington sits beside Vice President Hayes at a Cabinet Meeting, they discuss the Berenson capture in Pakistan, Hayes scoffs. Wellington mentions the VP was in Columbus for the weekend, Hayes says it was for the football game. President Warner enters and confirms Saul is a prisoner. Hayes wants Saul fired, Warner makes a sarcastic put-down.
Carrie meets with Mike, she brings Gromov contacting her, she thinks the Russian can be turned even though they are not supposed to go near him. He gives her 48 hrs to have Gromov reach out again.
Haqqani and Berenson talk in a cell, they realize someone revealed the meeting. Haqqani is angry and confronts his right hand, Balach, who denies. Elsewhere, Jalal and Tasneem have a tea, Jalal is summoned by phone, surprised his father is still alive. They chat in English, the father tells his son to come to him. Jalal is worried his father will suspect, the Pak spy urges him to bluff it out, his time will come.
Max keeps checking the phone signals at Camp Steedley looking for clues on Saul. His army buddies come to tease him but Max is furious at them.
Carrie gets a message at the front gate, a time and place to meet.
Jalal arrives at a compound and is greeted by Balach, Haqqani then hugs his son. Hassan says Berenson is trustworthy, and wonders who would sabotage the peace process. Jalal deflects.
Carrie shows Mike the note, for a 6:30 am meeting the next day, close to a mosque. Carrie doesn't want any backup which might scare away Gromov. After she leaves Mike arranges for a long distance parabolic mic for recording.
Balach comes to see Jalal at night, telling the younger Haqqani that Saul is poisoning his father's ear, also he says the father is wondering who Jalal has been in contact with the past two months. Jalal tells the man to leave then immediately phones Tasneem. Haqqani has eavesdropped and realizes his son is the traitor.
Jenna comes to see Carrie on the roof for a chat and smoke. Carrie is not sure what Gromov wants, he may be throwing shade. Jenna says everyone is suspicious of Carrie.
Saul, still bound, is given his glasses. Haqqani says he is free to go. Saul goes after the Taliban and they stand above a valley, Haqqani's homeground. Haqqani sadly admits his youngest and only remaining son tried to kill him, maybe he should step down. Saul tells him the "Arrow of God" can be like Kemal Ataturk, the elder Haqqani regains his confidence.
In Kabul the CIA watchers look over a square. Carrie wears a dark wig and scarf looks for Gromov, he is late for the meet.
Jalal is rousted out of bed and taken outside, tied to a flogging post. Haqqani forces his son to admit his perfidy at gunpoint. Jalal is defiant as Haqqani tries to tell him they can never win on the battlefield. Jalal is tossed out of the compound in his bare feet, banished.
Mike and Jenna consider Carrie's motives, finally Gromov appears as the prayer sounds overwhelm the mic, the Russian leads Carrie beside a fountain. He seems surprised Carrie isn't happy to see him. He apologizes for leaving her in the asylum, and reminds her he saved her life, she had been suicidal. Carrie shakes her head but slowly recalls how she opened up to him. Carrie had revealed her relationship with Brody and Frannie. The CIA can't make out anything, Gromov leaves Carrie to her thoughts.
President Warner tells Wellington Saul is free and Haqqani's son was the traitor. The peace plans are back on. Wellington warns him the VP is already planning a fundraising campaign. Hayes is unusual as he is a Veep from the opposing party, Warner had brought him in as a unity gesture but now it seems Hayes will challenge in the next election. Warner isn't too worried, yet.
Saul and Haqqani work out more details of the new Afghan government. Haqqani will have a behind the scenes influence. They two make the deal. A ceasefire will be declared immediately. Haqqani regrets not executing Jalal as an example to the other Taliban.
Max packs up at the Army camp, one of the soldiers is very upset as he feels Max being there was the reason for no recent attacks from the Taliban. Another soldier arrives in the tent to say bad weather is coming so there will be no air travel the next few days. Max sighs.
Carrie returns to Kabul Station and learns of the peace negotiation, she is led to a room with Saul and Mike videoconferencing with President Warner. With the Doha Agreement to be finalized the American people now need to be convinced. Carrie suggests Warner come to Afghanistan to make the announcement, the optics will be good. After, Carrie tells Mike she will write up a report on the Gromov meeting, she had also gone off on her own after the meeting. Carrie makes up a story that Gromov had been demoted after the Moscow incidents and being in Kabul was a "penalty box". She wants to stay in Kabul longer to see what Gromov will do next.
Jalal staggers down a dirt road. A white truck stops beside him, Tasneem steps out and offers a helping hand.
