The opening credits and theme (for Titus's show, "Magic Boy") are a parody of 1990s sitcom Living Single (1993).
Lillian is seen reading a tabloid newspaper with the front page headline, "Cyndi Lauper Still At Large", a callback to an earlier episode when Lillian accidentally assaulted a stripper while disguised as Cyndi Lauper.
Jacqueline says "Shut it down" right before leaving Home Basics, a nod to 30 Rock (2006), which also starred Jane Krakowski and was created by the same people as this show.
A recurring joke in this episode refers Titus's role as Daredevil's doorman. Jon Bernthal, who plays Titus's "stalker", appeared as Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) in Season 2 of Daredevil (2015), as well as in his own Marvel spin-off series, The Punisher (2017).
Unsurprisingly, the book that Kimmy holds in the bookshop, 'Poop's Not Food, Suzie', is not real, sadly. The name of the book's illustrator, Katje Borgesius, is also the name of a main character in Thomas Pynchon's classic 1973 novel 'Gravity's Rainbow'.
