The episode was really funny and a great start of what is hopefully be a great season. I wont give away to much but its a classic episode and if you liked family guy so far you'll probably enjoy this one as well. People who have issues with dark humor and rude jokes should just watch a different show instead of complaining about family guy all the time.
These episodes of Family Guy are why

Good to know family guy isn't afraid to laugh at cancer. We laugh at aids, and cancer is a much older terminal disease.
The real comedy is how people act differently around people who are dying and make empty promises knowing they will die... if you're afraid to face the truth about humanity you've been born the wrong species.
Life is ironic and funny and maybe a little tragic, but if you forget to laugh at the irony of how funny life is you'll get stuck in a personal tragedy. Shakespeare said something like life is either a tragedy or a comedy; make up your own mind and don't believe any review too much till you watch for yourself.
Too predictable plot and all the jokes were cliché.

Very funny, as always

I can't imagine why people would give this a low rating unless they're not Family Guy fans, in which case they shouldn't be watching the show.
I loved when Brian walks into the bar and gets treated as the 'old dude' and everyone is rude and clicking on their stupid phones which is pretty much the way things are now.
Also, his wife immediately gets fat and has a house full of cats in a dumpy apartment, the mother in law shows up, tells Brain to cancel HBO and says the stuff about how she's going to go out and protest abortion.
This is the best show on TV, paws down.

Obvious, predictable, and boring.

I was bored throughout the entire episode. A lot the "jokes" were forced, and predictable. I usually love family guy, but this was really bad. Instead of being clever, a lot of it just seemed in poor taste. Hopefully the next one is better.
Awesome episode.

Boring and not funny

I did not like the episode as it was predictable. I knew that the tests results would be wrong and she would not die and Brian would be disappointed. Farting, obesity and cancer jokes are not funny. They could have used a better dialogue between Brian and his wife. Brian is very predictable. I wish to see Stewie's brother Bertram again in an episode.
Season 17 least favourite.

I love Family Guy but this episode is just boring. There are some funny moments but there are also a few terrible jokes that kill the flow. They also keep reusing the same tired references. It's not dark comedy or clever writing, it's just boring.
A terrible start to a season of a terrible show.

Every season I pray that I'll come to some new writing. Something that makes me not miss the days of old 90s Family Guy. Sure, it was a bit boring, but it had some substance. Now it's just...fart jokes and lowering the bar. Sure, they probably won't get an Emmy with shows like Bob's Burgers or Archer (Looking at you this year, H. Jon) but come on, you can't even try anymore?
Where do I start with the episode? Brian goes out on the prowl wearing clothing befitting a "lit" Snapchat icon. Dude, just be yourself...minus the crushing pessimism and regret that only comes with being a dog closing in on his last years. He of course tries to hit on the young gals and gets shut down. Sure enough he meets a girl who seems nice. Who also happens to have cancer. RED FLAG. So of course this is where we are going, family is less than supportive as always, and then he pops the question. Brian, buddy, I know you're dumb but just be happy with her. Weddings cost money, and she's only got HL. Michael C Hall had it and he came out fine. Ish. Then we come to the wedding. You saw Heartbreak Kid? You remember that mother Ben met? Yeah, you'd think at least Brian would've seen that movie and exited stage right. I sure as hell would have.
And then from then on it was just... ugh. I would ask for my money back from hulu if I could. Trash. Nothing sentimental. Nothing wholesome, just the writers way of destroying yet another terrible character through making fun of people with weight problems or low socioeconomic status. I don't think these people have even owned an apartment with their holier-than-thou style of writing. I would say she really screwed the pooch here, but it doesn't seem like she was all too upset about the whole ordeal. She seemed happy. It's just too bad Brian isn't the type to give it a few months first before falling head over heels.
Let's just hope after this whole abomination is over we get something more palatable. Or just kill the show already. I'm fairly certain everyone associated with it wants it gone too.

Warning: Spoilers
Family Guy has become a parody of the parody it once was of itself when the show returned in 2005. it is so awful right now.
Early on there were a few moments that made me laugh, but this was a bad Brian storyline that got worse with fart humor and fat shaming.
