Despite the death of Bateman's character so early in the show, he continues to show his talent from behind the camera in his second and final directorial outing of the series. As a non-book reader, I was very shocked at Terry's death. It felt like a real Ned Stark moment for such a big name to die so quickly, especially after how impressed I was by his work in Ozark - another TV series that shows Bateman is not just a one trick pony when it comes to acting.
Ben Mendelshon continues to shine from last weeks episode in the dumbfounded detective role. I particularly loved Terry's guilt trip over Ralph in the prison - great performances from the two leads.
The show remains full of tension, mystery and intrigue as we are yet to uncover lots of information like who is the hooded (and seemingly horrific looking) person? What is happening with the little girl every night and was that blood on the floor? How did Terry's clothes end up in the barn? Are there supernatural elements to this story that are yet to be uncovered? I'm not going to rule it out as it is a Stephen King Adaptation! Looking forward to the series over the coming weeks after a fantastic set-up from these first two episodes.
