Stone Cold Dead: An Interview with George Mendeluk (2017)

*** (out of 4)

This nine-minute featurette is an interview with director George Mendeluk and has him discussing his 1979 thriller STONE COLD DEAD. If you're familiar with the film then you know it deals with a cop tracking down the killer of various prostitutes so we get some fun stories about what it was like to shoot in Toronto in some pretty seedy places. The director admits that they used a lot of real prostitutes to give the film more of a punch and we get some nice stories about the various shooting locations that had a lot of bad people hanging around. We also get some nice stories about the casting of the picture including how Richard Crenna and Paul Williams got on board. There's nothing overly detailed here but it's a fun chat that fans should enjoy.
