A biased short review

This is the first time I watch the street I walk through, the people I meet and the sky that stands high upon us on the big screen.

The first and only time I've been to the cinema was when I was a little kid, that time movie theaters were almost gasping to meet their final destiny. I still remember every siple detail of that night.. a person must remember his first time they say!

After that night I've never been to any movie theater as they were shut by the new regime and inforced, with a very strict understanding of Sharia laws, against people's will. Since then my longing never stoped and movies were never to be played in a once-upon-a-time socialist Marxists city!

Cheerfully, that didn't last forever as this movie broke the silence and changed the status quo.

This movie is well screened and directed, played with talent and passion, still, I find the story to be a mere cliche; repeated hundreds of times in art and literature, and this is perhaps why Amr Gamal need to hand some of the responsibilities he takes on his back to others. I believe that there are many Yemeni pieces of work that can be put into motion.

I highly recommend this movie as it is, up until now, one of its kind.

A wonderful movie

It is a wonderful movie. Made in difficlut times in Aden. Yemen. . The screenplay is great.

A Good Start

This is the first Yemeni movie to ever hit the theatre, and I -as a Yemeni filmmaker- appreciate this alot, to be the pioneers in this industry in a country is enough to make it a fabulous achievement. In the technical and artistic side, this movie has its flaws, but it's an amazing reflection of what's happening current in yemen and most particularly -Aden-. I'm not a reviewer nor a movie critic, but I'd absolutely go and watch it again if I had the chance. Thanks to Amr Gamel and all the crew for making this industry alive, for the first time, we hope more is coming.

A splendid movie

I like this movie above all others. there is so much to see and appreciate. Every viewing brings a new appreciation of the story-line, the plot and the characters. Faultlessly acted and produced. I love the interaction between the players; the subtle relationships; the period atmosphere (the recent catastrophic war in Yemen).This romantic love story sweeps across the screen with epic proportions of both the strength of the victorious soul of this ancient city rooted in the middle of a dormant volcano and the dreadful ruin of the wretched war .

A movie has made between the fires and tears, colored by the sand of this ancient city. I consider this movie as a documented history of this period of time, mixed with true feelings, stories, joy and tragedies.. highly advice you to watch it 👍🏻

Fantastic film combines comedy, drams & romance

It the first commercial film made in Yemen which was filmed completely in Aden.

A genius masterpiece documenting the Era with all tiny details in amazing way showing old houses, local food and all traditions in Aden.

The spectator would enjoy every single minute of the film and live the events with the actors for two hours laughing and crying at the same time.

An original masterpiece, A story of love, tears and struggle between a young man and a girl but at the same time reflects the story of the great love of the people of Aden to their city despite all the difficult circumstances of war, As an Adeni girl who lives in the dearest Aden, this movie made me miss Aden while I am in it, and I am sure that this movie would change the stereo type taken about Aden to the whole world , So I highly recommend for everyone to watch this great movie

We are here witnessing the birth of a new era in Yemen media entertainment, Aden cinema is reborn with new world class standards by the director Amr Gamal, a heartwarming romance/comedy drama tells the story of (Mamon) who struggled years to marry his fiancee (Rasha), their story has its ups and downs due to the civil conflict in Yemen, the question that raised itself between hard life circumstances and great love story, who will win and who will lose? Amr Gamal has taken his audience to the streets of old Aden city showing the history and culture of the people as well as the city which had suffered a lot during the past few years but continues to regain its own special environment again by time, this movie truly shares Aden city identity to the whole world and reflecting transparently the real face of Adeni society that touch our hearts and minds, gave us hilarious laughs as well as taking considerable drops of tears from our eyes being honored to be the first commercial success in Aden and Yemen overall with more than 100 shows so far which makes it the number one at Yemeni newly born box office, this movie delivers a massive statement of love, sacrifice, and all values of our beloved city Aden. I recommend this movie to everyone as an experience that takes your soul deep into something different, something original you will rarely see from third world country cinema. Get ready for a roller coaster of emotions! This movie is the definition of struggle, pain, love, and sacrifice. With touches of comedy here and there, the story truly captures the essence of the brave Adeni people who fought for their lives and country during the war and are now fighting for a decent life after. This is one giant step for Adeni cinema with hopes of hitting it worldwide. The makers and crew of the movie didn't leave one small detail out! The best film from Aden

The best film from Aden simulates the conditions of citizens after the war from not receiving money and increasing prices in terms of food, drinking, and housing, and also simulates the simplicity of people who love to live and peace and do not want more than that. I fear for her some of the following things that may happen soon, namely war because I know that there are people who do not like goodness for Aden from some other Yemeni region that holds hatred and racism for the people of Aden. thank you.

Touching Movie

Some people will consider it just as an imaginary story, but not for us, the Yemenis, it reflects a real situation of so many people. The movie shows the simple life of Yemenis in Aden with all of its different positive and negative aspects, including poverty, life difficulties, friendships, and strong social relationships and add to it a touch of sense of humour. I consider this movie as a great positive jump in Yemen cinema. I'm proud of each one of the people who worked on it in such situations.
