The lead character of Albert Davis played by actor Paul Terry is actually named after director Steve Davis's Grandfather and Father, his Grandfather Albert Henry Davis landed with the Royal Artillery at Sword beach on D Day, he served in France, Belgium and Germany through World War Two, Steve's father Albert George Henry Davis also served in Germany with the Royal Queens West Surrey Regiment from 1957.
Several scenes in the film are based on experiences director Steve Davis's Grandfather experienced during his time in France in 1944.
