Good Enough
PennyReviews20 September 2019
The first L-DK movie was really good. This one is not a remake of that old one, but it's more like a sequel. The one thing that didn't really work for me was the fact that the story presented a background really quickly with some flash backs. If there was a mini series before the movie that would have been understandable, howerver, as a stand alone, that was a bit rocking the balance.

Other than that, the story was pretty good. The couple had chemistry and the girl was adorable and just right for that role. The love triangle was interesting too, as well as the conclusion, which was satisfying. The performances were pretty decent too.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

This movie is not as I expected.

Warning: Spoilers
The plus point of this movie is its cast and soundtracks. First, the main cast is Sugino Yosuke, Kamishiraishi Mone and Yokohama Ryusei. They match the original character than the 2014 ver. Second, the soundtracks are very great!!! I love them because of their melody and lyrics. The song 'Happy End' shows me the happiness of Aoi and the song 'Everytime' shows me the emotions of Leon. Leon had been one of the characters that I did not like when I read the comics. He was very arrogant!! But the ways he acted at the end of the chapters that he last appeared made me change my thinking. He did everything for Aoi and Shuusei. However, he felt hurt, he suffered it by saying 'No pain no gain'. But the movie can not show the whole of his hurt. And that is the minus point. In the comic, his hurt is actually shown at the time when he talks to Yukari (the person that doesn't appear in the movie) about her photo. It is one of the things that make me cry in the comic so it should have been the main point of the plot. And the second things is when Shuusei said he would go to university in the USA. This does have in the movie but the acting of the cast is not reach the line that can make me cry. And Kamishiraishi Mone doesn't show enough Aoi's sadness. Another thing makes me cry is the brother story between Shuusei and Souju (Shuusei's brother). It's about how Souju does everything for Shuusei ignore him.Besides, this thing shows Souju and Shuusei's sadness but doesn't have in the movie. However, the main problem is the circuit. It was too fast to show the characters' emotions. If only the movie was longer. My rate:
  • Acting: 7.0
  • Plot: 6.0 (if the circuit was not too fast, I would rate 8.0 but...)
  • Soundtrack: 9.0
=> Total: 7.3
