Soren West : Who are you?
Olivia Benson : You running a book?
Soren West : Get out of here.
Olivia Benson : Yeah, not without my Oreos.
Soren West : Just go someplace else.
Olivia Benson : Hey, sweetheart, I've had a very bad day, okay?
[rummaging in her pockets]
Olivia Benson : I know I have cash in here somewhere.
Soren West : It's on the house.
Olivia Benson : Yeah?
Soren West : Yeah.
Olivia Benson : That okay with you?
Bodega Owner : Yeah, yeah, I'm good.
Olivia Benson : Okay, that's a first.
Soren West : Just get out of here.
Olivia Benson : Oh, um, sorry, can I just get some aspirin?
Soren West : And that's it.
Olivia Benson : Thank you.
[he turns around to get it; turning back, he sees she has her gun drawn]
Olivia Benson : Drop the knife.
-
Olivia Benson : [after Paige gets a message on her phone] You mind if I take a look at that?
Paige Black : I do.
Olivia Benson : Okay, Paige, so let me tell you where we stand. I can take you down to the squad room where you're gonna sit and you're gonna wait until Detective Rollins gets you a search warrant.
Amanda Rollins : Then we'll be in the exact same position we are now except I will be extremely pissed off 'cause you would have wasted two hours of my life.
-
Rowan Mauer : Kevin had a good life with me. I fed him, I clothed him, I loved him. He had a mom.
Diane Brown : You stole him.
Rowan Mauer : But my baby was dead. I deserved...
Olivia Benson : No. No. No one deserves somebody else's child.
-
Olivia Benson : Diane. Wait, please. Diane, it's gonna come back to him. I promise you, with... with counseling...
Diane Brown : What's the point?
Olivia Benson : The point is that the DA is gonna cut him a deal.
Diane Brown : He's not my brother anymore. He stopped being my brother 17 years ago.
Olivia Benson : This is just gonna take time.
Diane Brown : We're people. We're not a broken vase you can put together with a little Krazy Glue.
Olivia Benson : Diane...
Diane Brown : Look, I know you think you're doing doing the right thing, Lieutenant, and maybe for someone else it would be, but I'm just not that strong.
-
Emerson Mauer : No, okay? That can't be true. I am Emerson Mauer, okay?
Olivia Benson : I know how hard this is to hear, Kevin...
Emerson Mauer : Don't call me that.
Olivia Benson : You have a sister, Diane.
Emerson Mauer : No, it's just me and my mom.
Olivia Benson : Diane took care you.
Emerson Mauer : My mom took care of me.
Olivia Benson : Your mother was sick. She had Hodgkin's. She was sick in bed, and your father was working all the time.
Emerson Mauer : Why are you lying to me?
Olivia Benson : I'm not. Think, just think, Kevin. Think. Diane used to take you to get ice cream. She used to take you to the park, right? To play Frisbee. And you had nightmares as a little boy, didn't you? And it was Diane's bed that you crawled into because she held you. She made you feel safe because she loved you so much and you loved her.
Emerson Mauer : No, no, no, no, 'cause if that was true, I would remember.
Olivia Benson : You do remember, Kevin.
Emerson Mauer : No! No!
Olivia Benson : Do you know what I think? I think that that deep down in your heart, and in your mind, and in your subconscious, your sister's alive and taking care of you.
Emerson Mauer : I don't have a sister.
Olivia Benson : And you just wanted to reach out to her, and have her hold you because you miss her so much.
Emerson Mauer : That is crazy.
Olivia Benson : That's why you took Bailey. You didn't want to hurt her. I know that. You wanted to take care of her like your sister took care of you.
Emerson Mauer : No, okay? I am Emerson Mauer! Just... just leave me alone, all right? You're a liar. I don't want to talk anymore.
-
Amanda Rollins : Her name is Bailey Shaw. She's six years old. Her parents are Griffin Shaw and Jamie Johnston.
Olivia Benson : Okay, does Griffin drive a silver Saturn?
Amanda Rollins : No, Jamie took Bailey ice skating in Central Park, right? And he went to the bathroom, and when he came back, she was gone.
-
Olivia Benson : How's she doing?
Dr. Darby Wilder : We've got her on fluids. She's cold, hungry. Looks like she was in that trunk for a while. Oh, and when she got here, her pants were on inside-out.
Amanda Rollins : Did you run a rape kit?
Dr. Darby Wilder : No signs of penetration or foreign fluids.
Amanda Rollins : Can we talk to her?
Dr. Darby Wilder : Sure. But I have to warn you, she's pretty scared.
-
Olivia Benson : Fin, where do we stand?
Odafin Tutuola : CSU pulled prints off the Saturn, no hits.
Olivia Benson : Well, what about the cell phone video?
Odafin Tutuola : With TARU. We may get lucky and get a hit on the facial recognition. I called in an arrest-for in all five boroughs. He can run, but he can't hide, Liv.
-
Dominick Carisi Jr. : The registered owner of the Saturn died two weeks ago. His son sold it in an estate sale last week.
Olivia Benson : Okay, what about the new owner?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : He's a mystery man. He saw the sign on the car window, he knocked on the door, he paid all cash. He never registered the title.
Olivia Benson : Guys, we're talking about a six year old girl who was grabbed in Central Park. Somebody must have seen something.
-
Odafin Tutuola : Off-duty cop stopped at the bodega on the way home. He spotted our guy buying some Marlboros. He was unarmed, so he stepped outside and called it in.
Olivia Benson : He still inside?
Odafin Tutuola : When the officer went inside to confront him, he pulled a switchblade on him. He's now holding the bodega owner hostage.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : [approaching] ESU is on the way.
Olivia Benson : Is there a back door?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Uh, odds are. Why?
-
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Hey, lieu, we're wasting our time here. Bailey couldn't ID photos of either one of them.
Olivia Benson : Well, I was kinda rooting for Mr. Wonderful.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Yeah, Soren West. He's got two outstanding warrants for possession.
Olivia Benson : Oh, well, tack on auto theft, assaulting a police officer, and get him in Rikers.
-
Amanda Rollins : Hey, Paige may have given us something.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : I-I don't think Paige is involved in this.
Amanda Rollins : She may have helped us find the guy who is. So, she took this picture of Bailey in Central Park, and Bailey said that... that the kidnapper reminded her of Big Bird because...
Olivia Benson : Because he was wearing a yellow scarf.
Amanda Rollins : Paige doesn't know who this is, but...
Dominick Carisi Jr. : But at least now we know what he looks like.
-
Peter Stone : As it stands, I'm pretty sure I can get an indictment, but conviction's a whole other ball game.
Olivia Benson : Okay, well, how does it look for a search warrant?
Peter Stone : DNA?
Olivia Benson : No.
Peter Stone : Hair sample?
Olivia Benson : That's why we need a search warrant. That's Bailey and her parents.
Peter Stone : You get me one thing that's not circumstantial, I'll get you a warrant.
-
Olivia Benson : Bailey IDed a photo of Emerson. That should convince a jury of the bastard's peers.
-
Peter Stone : [Bailey's dads are refusing to let her testify] So much for that.
Olivia Benson : I can still swear in an affidavit that she IDed Mauer.
Peter Stone : Liv...
Olivia Benson : It'll get us a warrant to search his house.
-
Amanda Rollins : The lab ran the DNA from the t-shirt found in the bedroom through NCMEC. We got a hit.
Olivia Benson : Bailey?
Amanda Rollins : No, Kevin Brown. He went missing from Forest Park in 2002 when he was six.
Peter Stone : Does the DNA match the bones in the back yard?
Amanda Rollins : It's too soon to tell. He is survived by his sister, Diane.
Olivia Benson : I hate this.
-
Susan Landsman : Uh, excuse me, we had a deal. She testifies against Emerson, she gets immunity.
Peter Stone : The deal was conditioned upon your client telling the truth.
Rowan Mauer : I did.
Peter Stone : You called him your son.
Olivia Benson : We know that's a lie. 'Cause your son died 17 years ago.
Susan Landsman : Too bad you can't prove it.
Olivia Benson : Well, the lab is testing the DNA of the man pretending to be your son as we speak.
Peter Stone : They're gonna call me with the results. You've got until then to make a deal, Mrs. Mauer.
-
Olivia Benson : She testified that she was an accomplice to Bailey's kidnapping, so when the DNA comes back and it matches Kevin Brown's... there's gonna be another kidnapping charge.
Peter Stone : And a murder.
Susan Landsman : Who did she kill?
Olivia Benson : Her own son. The real Emerson, 17 years ago.
Peter Stone : Tick, tock.
Susan Landsman : What's in it for her?
Peter Stone : I'm thinking twenty years.
-
Peter Stone : Without your daughter's testimony, we don't have a case.
Griffin Shaw : All those people staring at her? Not a chance. She's not going to court, and that's all we have to say.
Peter Stone : She can testify by video conference.
Griffin Shaw : But his lawyer gets to question her.
Olivia Benson : I'm sure that you don't want Mr. Mauer doing this to another little girl.
Jamie Johnston : Of course not, but we're not going to subject our baby girl to more trauma. A defense attorney ripping her story apart? No, it's better she forget the whole thing.
Olivia Benson : The next little girl may not be as lucky as Bailey.
-
Olivia Benson : So, Kevin and Diane Brown. This was taken two days before Kevin went missing. Probably the last time either of them smiled.
Peter Stone : You spoke to Diane?
Olivia Benson : Yeah, she gave up hope of finding her brother a long time ago.
-
Amanda Rollins : We don't know those bones belong to Kevin.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Oh, come on, we found the kid's t-shirt in the Mauer house.
Olivia Benson : The lab is running DNA tests on the skeleton now.
Amanda Rollins : I mean, what the hell, I hope it is Kevin. At least then we have a shot of convicting Rowan Mauer with something.
Olivia Benson : What, a public health violation? She's gonna pay a fine and walk. This family is-is Teflon.
-
Peter Stone : Bailey still won't testify?
Olivia Benson : The dads are dead-set against it.
Peter Stone : Unfortunately, all of this adds up to nothing.
Olivia Benson : So I have to tell Diane Brown that we found her brother, we know who killed him, and there's nothing that we can do about it?
Amanda Rollins : We don't know that that skeleton is Kevin's.
Olivia Benson : Yet. What about a grand jury?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : An indictment without a conviction? That's just gonna cause Diane more pain.
Olivia Benson : Okay, so... so two kids were kidnapped. One of them is dead, and we have a legal system where we can't do anything about it? What... what the hell are we doing?
-
Peter Stone : A grand jury might not be such a bad idea.
Olivia Benson : A grand jury investigating who? Bailey won't testify against Emerson.
Peter Stone : But Emerson's mother may.
Olivia Benson : She's just gonna plead the Fifth.
Peter Stone : Not if I give her immunity against being charged as an accomplice in Bailey's kidnapping. If she happens to implicate herself in Kevin Brown's kidnapping and murder, so be it.
Olivia Benson : Do you really think that a mother is gonna testify against her son?
Peter Stone : Her son, the pedophile.
-
Olivia Benson : I hate this.
-
Amanda Rollins : I have blue eyes.
Olivia Benson : Congratulations?
Amanda Rollins : Al has blue eyes, Billie has blue eyes.
Olivia Benson : Okay, if I remember my high school bio correctly, it's called a recessive gene.
Amanda Rollins : Look at this. Zach and Rowan both have brown eyes. Emerson has blue. I know it's a stretch, but...
Olivia Benson : Statistically speaking, Emerson may not be Rowan's son.
