Picking the best out of a bottomless easter egg box

Warning: Spoilers
What a fantastic penultimate episode for this highly creative first season. Crisis point adopts a holodeck style narrative again for it's main storyline and does it so well. From the second the widescreen format was adopted i knew we were in for a treat. This episode centres around Ensign Mariner playing out her deep feelings toward her Captain/Mother in a thrilling and movie style environment with the help of Boimlers interactive and almost exact rendition of the Cerritos crew however it turns out to be more of a theraputic aid in that she sees some reasoning behind her mothers actions. The plot is ok but slightly tired for this debut season however the jokes/references and visual nods are what make this an absolute enjoyment to watch, from the multiple exterior shots of the ship to the ott fight scenes to the mixed spoof ship crash (Enterprise D saucer crash in Generations/Voyager crash in the episode Timeless) this was just a massive treat for hard core trek fans....I'm thouroghly enjoying this programme and love the lighthearted and ubiquitous nods to my favourite franchise

Crisis Point

Crisis Point does what ST:TNG should had done when utilising the Holodeck.

The start of the episode riffs the war on terror and the second invasion of Iraq.

Mariner creates a diplomatic incident by breaking the Prime directive. It puts Mariner in a collision course with her mother.

The Captain puts her daughter to therapy to give Mariner food for thought.

Mariner decides to initiate the Holodeck to create a crisis, movie style. It does lead to much needed therapy.

The Holodeck scenes poke fun at previous Star Trek movies, especially the prolonged fly by of the Cerritos.

The best episode so far of an uneven first series.

Therapy... Lower Decks style...

If you didn't thoroughly enjoy this episode I question why you are watching this series. Should this have been season one's last episode? ... with the STVI signature sign-off and all... My favorite episode to date! TMP ship fly-by with tears..., lens flares, ST movie theme music, and a ton of other great Star Trek references were all done really well. But what makes this episode for me is Mariner finally comes to terms with herself. Maybe we can finally get past this mother/daughter feud. Love how all our main characters get to bolden their characters. Great fun, I found myself cracking up on multiple occasions. No chocolate for the Captain!

Fantastic music

The composer did an amazing job here, using the themes from Star Trek VI and III and slightly rearranging them. I had a smile on my face the whole time. Excellent fan service!

Definitely one of my favorite eps so far. I swear some people wouldn't know good entertainment if it slapped them in the face!

How can you not enjoy this episode?

Sometimes I think people are depressed and they project their depression on TV shows.

Beautiful storytelling fun and interactive lots of different events going on has some deep heartfelt meaning and care you can tell there's lotta genius going on in this program. I enjoy the fact that they are storytelling rather than just random. I find the show very witty creative and fun to watch. When people complain I just think man they have no idea how much work goes into producing a comedy animation and I very thankful for everyone's hard work and put a smile on my face when I feel sick.

Put me out of my misery..... Please

The bar for this show gets lower and lower. Yet again it is highlighting that if you are disrespectful, lazy, break the rules and are threatening toward a higher ranking officer you get everything you want. Then we see the hard working conscientious crew member who is down trodden, ignored and belittled. Way to go CBS, you have successfully made a joke out of one of the best Intellectual Properties in TV whilst managing to destroy that same TV Show.

Just let it end.

Why the love?

Unsure why people rave about this episode. The series is mediocre at best, and this is the worst one (so far). The only reason I'm sticking with it is because there's simply nothing else to watch, and it's a throw-away show which you don't have to even think about
