"The Platinum Loop" is based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Austin Williams. Hailed by Publishers Weekly as "pulp fun at its best," the novel weaves elements of hard-boiled noir, dark comedy, and Old Hollywood lore into a violent tale of crime and redemption surrounding a raunchy 8mm film owned by the FBI that allegedly shows Tinseltown's most iconic blonde in a highly compromising position. Working from a script adapted by Williams from the book, director Eric Fulford is creating a stylized cinematic version of the early 1970s that pays tribute to some of the great crime films of that era. The diverse cast includes veteran character actors such as Jack Kehler ("The Big Lebowski"), Jaine Taini ("Ray Donovan"), Robert Riechel Jr. ("Mob City") and introduces newcomer Stephanie Stuart in the role of Stella, the world's greatest--if unknown--Marilyn Monroe impersonator.
