One of the reasons why Peter Bebjak wanted to make the film was because he felt that the world is almost turning back to the same hard line opinions that helped the Nazis in their rise to power. Tellingly, over the end credits, soundbites play of authoritarians in power - including Donald Trump - espousing the same kind of hatred that led to the death camps in the 1930s.
