Trying to wrap my head around this trip thru the upside down wonderland. My logical brain keeps wanting to know how TF B McBride hasn't figured out he's been dosed. WTH? Then we have birds coming at people and no Tippi Hedren in sight. HOWEVER - I'm actually enjoying this episode.

Billy, the Indefatigable

As McBride works his way into a hornet's nest, he seems unflappable. The thing is that he is being played with and could so easily be taken care of. He wanders around in his haphazard way. This is a place where the water board might as well be dealing in diamonds. They have so much power over the little people and, of course, want to maintain it. One thing that bothers me is how upfront McBride is with the bad guys. Inviting danger.
It's Chinatown, Jake, Right Down to the Goat

In Chinatown, Jack Nicholson admires a sheep entering a courtroom, and in this season's Goliath, based heavily upon the famous Neo Noir, there's a pet goat that's another trip of what's a long literal trip taken by several characters under a drug spell that causes birds to appear, the moon to seem giant, and other such trippiness that's difficult for the characters or the audience to explain, which in itself is part of the Noir template that this season is following. And sometimes too trippy. Like the beginning of this particular episode. Say no more.
"Am I high"

That was my question to my wife about half way in to this episode.
This is what has become normal for early into a Goliath season. Disjoint, random events. Different things that make me say "I have to remember that for later", but by the end of the ep I've said it so many times. Something that's so obvious, but I'm not sure what it is. Yet another f*up in his f*ed up life. And a cuter than hell goat in a sweater. "Am I high" indeed.
Think Twin Peaks only with lots of profanity and no pie.

Warning: Spoilers
I get that Dennis Quaid may have seemed like a big deal on this show, but his acting and/or character is all over the place.
This premise is not comparable to the first two seasons and based on events I don't want to spoil I worry it may be the last because of how it intertwines with them.

Bit weak on the writing side

Warning: Spoilers
Billy's buddy in the campervan would realistically never bring documents into a casino related to the owners they are investigating, knowing a casino and hotel are stuffed with cameras. Further, these documents would be sealed to expose it being opened by others.
Billy realistically would never sleep in that same hotel for the same reasons.
When he would have been drugged, such a thing would be investigated, yet he keeps it a secret.
Billy would never be so upfront with the bad guys as it's essentially inviting snakes in the snake pit to attack.
What's up with the crows? This impending doom type of visualization feels more like Fargo, and not Goliath.
