Jessie Buckley Shines!
landonvb29 September 2020
It felt a lot like the first episode, it was slow and occasionally boring but a nice stylish approach and Jessie Buckley's excellent performance keep it engaging throughout. The end kept me ready to see the next episode.

Getting better but still lacking that pull
kirbie-344815 November 2020
I don't even know how to describe it, but for me, this still just isn't Fargo; however, it is a decent mob-crime syndicate show with little sprinkles of Coen Brothers flare tied in between the mob scenes. That's where the character Donatello Fadda comes in, and like always, that chick can act, sing, and dance her way through any source material with ease and grace. She's obviously the most 'Fargo' type character out of the entire cast, and that's fine, but why even call it fargo season 4, and not something else entirely? It's getting better, but it doesn't have me hooked like it should. It certainly hasn't hooked me like it's three predecessors did before it. I loved them all, and personally, I thought each season got better and better, and now we have this, and I'm not sure why it's not hooking me faster. 7 stars so far. Nothing against the acting; everyone is great. I love the cast, but I'm expecting more from it because well, it's FARGO!

Who Says It's Bad?
Hitchcoc28 September 2020
This is such a treat. The plot is totally original. The characters are so well developed. The direction is so rhythmic. And the cinematography is so far ahead of most any television. This has been the case since the inception. The two factions are beginning to face off now, but their successes depend on not becoming too violent (although there is still little restraint). Everything ramps up here. Then we have the peripheral characters who are going to be absorbed into the plot. I can't wait until next week.

What a disappoitment
limitednov29 September 2020
First 3 seasons were amazing. I watched the first two episodes of this season, what a let down. In the first 3 seasons you could tell they took a lot of time finding the perfect fit for each role, Angus Sampson, David Thewlis. So far theres none of those type of characters. This season just doesn't have the chemistry or magic of the first three season. I don't know if its because of covid but, this season feels like they just sloppily rushed this out. This season is not a bad show it's just great an ok show. First 3 seasons are fargo were a 9/10, this season is 6.5, 7 max. I probably won't continue watching this season unless theres nothing else on TV.

Episode 2 just highers up the stakes
mariofaka28 September 2020
Marvelous cliffhanger and interesting points, the second episode of the fourth installment of Fargo indicates that things are about to scalate. Hawley's direction is impeccable and the script is fantástico. Season 4 may not be as bad as critics say it is.

Slowly burning the fuse to an explosive finale... hopefully
ha77y73ad9717 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
With the sudden ending of ep1 this picks up where that ended. We all need to see the payoff by the end of the series! 2 escapees join the frame to bring some further clarity to the family and their past with the link to Chris Rocks 'Family'.

The quirkiness of the series cannot be understated the dialogue is just up to the level of the others, with some few exceptions that Channel 4 and the Left want to make this a race series. If this pays off well at the end i hope its just this series so they could test the water and have to make this too political but round this time there were warring factions of areas giving both sides equal time defuses the call from changing the series at its core.

Scene stealers are still held by Chris Rock, Ben Whitshaw and the Minnesotan nurse whos really helps settle this in the same neck of the woods as the previous series. Salvatore Esposito could be one of these characters but after 1 episode I'll hope to see that paly out to end of the series again. Doctor Senator as well who has a wealth of knowledge during this time period and one scene in particular of this episode makes him a fascinating character. Close to the Ted Danson character or Keith Carradine from season 1 of a weathered soul thats seen all of this before.

Overall this is just the start and one thing i know from all of these series if that it is a slow burner that will blow before the final episode airs!

I don't understand what your problem is with this
Amirali_R29 September 2020
I just don't get it. If all the watchers was like you there wouldn't be such masterpieces like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos...

Episode 402

Warning: Spoilers
Another brother in the mix is definitely good, but overall I am just not crazy about the premise this year. So far it is not hooking me in like past seasons.

Another engaging episode
rmccabe-3969528 November 2020
Just like Season 2, a lot of characters are being set up, but that's okay. I'm loving the characters and I'm loving the actors. Not one piece seems out of place.

As for all the review bombers calling this "woke", ignore them. What we have here is a solid, engaging take on the gangster genre. I can't wait to see where this is going.

Not a new season, but a saga.
QoS00729 September 2020
Two incredible episodes back to back, of equal longer length, and yet going by so quickly. Season 4 is tremendous and just getting better and better. Underrated gem that stands up with the series best!

It'd be easier to just say this show can do no wrong then to list all the great things about it. You're just crazy if you watch an episode unsatisfied. 10/10 all day baby!

Such a new take on this period of crime
hannes-478896 March 2023
This is very original and has elements that we have never seen before. Whether the scenarios are good writing or pulled out of history I don't know.

But you have to get over the fact that Donkey has become a crime boss.

It was about time to see the African American side of things in Minnesota, since it't mainly been Lundstroms and Larsens this far. I like the sparse but content rich dialogue. I like that the series shows instead of telling. I like how it clips in and out of the timeline. It retains the Fargo ambience excellently while telling a story that isn't a journey or an adventure but a slow development of characters.

A dissapointment
lodewijkmdv3 December 2020
I loved the first three seasons and was really looking out for this season. That made the disappointment just bigger. It misses the magic of the first three seasons. Maybe I expected too much.

Does lack for lackeys
ldmede-4838529 September 2020
None of the subtlety of the original. Lack humor, nuisance and fun. So much for fallow follow ups.

Production value alone does not make a good series
bobmartens12 October 2020
PC, borderline pretentious and overall boring. I might try to binge it when the season is over. This is not something to look forward to all week. Everything and everybody is quirky, and ultimately unfunny. Fargo got woke, time to check out.

Costumes can't save this thing
ondoin28 September 2020
The costumes, cars etc are the only decent thing in this show. Everything else is just terrible. The script, casting, characters, dialogue, you name it. Plus the political correctness. It has nothing in common with the old Fargo we knew and loved.

Slow your roll?
jasondorsa12 November 2020
Who wrote the script for this show? This is horrendous and completely unauthentic. Jason Schwartzman just told someone to 'slow your roll'. There's no saving this one.....this season is DOA.
