It's Doom, but the Ruskis have to deal with the situation in the Siberian Tundra. Very beautiful scenery, very gory violence.

Wow. i loved this one amazing from start to finish. And it has a nice setting, nice atmosphere and everything.
And i think this could easily be much better than movies like Grey. I think even they can make a series if they add more types of those monsters.

Action-centered as usual but still epic

It's not a very original episode. It's a mix between Wolfeinstein for the inclusion of Demons in WW history and one of the last episode of Season 7 of Game of Thrones.
The visual style is the same as « Beyond The Aquila Rift » and « Lucky 13 ».
It's one of the most breathtaking piece of bravery of the all season.
The BEST Episode Yet!!!

'The Secret War (2019)' surrounds a group of soviet soldiers facing off against some sort of demonic entities. It has a few large-scale battles, each more eye-pleasing than the last. It also has a good sense of cold, frightening atmosphere and a decent dynamic between its core characters. It isn't always all that compelling and its dialogue is stilted. It has more than enough going for it to be worth a watch, though. It's a decent war-time horror. 6/10

Love, Death & Robots is one of the many surprises that Netflix offers. The whole serie of these animated shorts reminded me of The Animatrix (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328832/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)
The difference is that the latter is build around one theme ('Matrix') where LD&R contains different stories.
One of the stories is The Secret War. A bunch of hardened Russian soldiers is not fighting at the WWII front but is facing an alien enemy in the frozen forests of remote Siberia.
While the story might not be very original, the way it's delivered blew my mind. The animated characters, the surroundings, the reactions and behaviour of the cast, well, everything looks so unbelievably real. Again, mind blowing. After witnessing a true heroic battle you just don't want it to end. But it ends. The only criticism I have is that the characters speak English and not Russian. I'm looking forward to see more from this story, this animated pinnacle deserves a grand sequel!
9 out of 10 stars. Highly recommended.

I actually registered just to state a couple of facts with my opinion. So this one obviously goes back in time but doesn't portray the soviets simply as the baddies. In fact the episode is completely impartial of any political conflicts. It's really rare to see unvilified depiction like this. On top of that, the quality and setting is up there with the best of them.

Should have been narrated in Russian

One of the strongest episode in the season. Hyperrealistic CGI, fascinating plot, and finally Westerners portray Russia, in this case Siberia, as it is.
Time to talk about bad stuff. The pronounciation of names and organizations are so bad. Cheka has the stress on a, so it prononses as cheká, not chéka. The name Boris has the stress on i, so it is Borís, not the way you pronounce London´s major name. And overall, all the people are speaking with russian accent. Would be more logical just to dub everything in Russian to begin with, so there would be no such errors, and it would feel more genuine. By the way, one of the actors here is Ukrainian, he should have explain to the writers and other actors how russian words should be pronounced.

This one was reaaalllly good. The animation was terrific and the cinematography was just stunning. I love when shows and films use occultist themes and I think this episode did it very well. The gore was quite frankly ungodly, possibly the goriest thing I've ever watched. To say this was dark and gritty would be a massive understatement. The music was brilliant as well and I found myself really rooting for the small group of Red Army soldiers. The creatures were pretty terrifying, although nothing that special. They acted well as a necessary, unrelenting force that the story required. Definitely one of the best written episodes, and overall it's probably top 3 of the season

I've decided to review each of the short films that make up this series individually.
A Russian army unit fights against Demonic forces in the forests of Siberia.
For this final episode, the series brings back more super high quality CGI, this time for an excellent, if not hugely original tale, of humans sacrifice and loyalty vs. the Occult armies. Unlike some of the other CGI stories, that I felt played out all they had in this one short run, this one felt like it only fleshed out enough to pique my interest and this could have run longer.

Nice concept, aptly executed. A short, yet daunting adventure in the Siberian tundra. Bleak and cold, both in its story and environments. A flicker of warmth that comes with characters. Doesn't feel forced. Subtle historical background. The last part was unnecessary, albeit with a nice touch at the very end. Good direction. Not enough tanks :P.
Incredible!

Cgi was awesome but story was very bad. Story doesnt have any logic and meaning. Other episode have deep meaning and vergy good logic even in futuristic episode. I really dont recommend this episode. Waste of time and dont watch it.
Wow!

This was my favorite of LD&R. I think that is because it feels the most 'complete' of all the shorts. The problem with shorts this short is that they can feel like a one-line joke - not something truly developed or fleshed-out, and ultimately not totally satisfying. The Secret War, however, builds slowly (like how feature films do), is artfully constructed, and ends with a bang. On top of tha, this is some truly amazing CG. This is a great way to finish out the series.
