Boston Public (2000–2006)
A surprising wonderful TV Drama!!!
30 January 2001
When I tuned into Boston Public for the first episode, I wasn't expecting much. Though I was a fan of David E. Kelley, the ads for the show looked rather bland and/or unintelligent. And after the first five minutes, I found myself pleasantly wrong.

I have since watched every episode, and "Boston Public" is one of the few shows I think is really worth my time. With good acting, that week-in, week-out off some very exceptional writing. Though you hate some of the things that some of these characters do, like Fyvish Finkel's 'Harvey Lipschitz' is very racist, you are drawn to all ten members of the cast and love each and everyone one of them.

Chi McBride and Jessalyn Gilsig stand out among the cast as the much-beleaguered principal and the social studies teacher with a passion, respectively, and I foresee a great career for both during and after the series' run.

If you're wondering the television channel one night, and you're in the mood for a comedy/drama with substance, check out "Boston Public," and you'll be hooked.

A Moving and Thoughtful Film
5 January 2001
Star Trek: Generations surprised me, because it had everything. Drama, Action, Comedy, a great plot, good special effects, and great acting. I must give credit to the writers on this script. It's a great departure for Star Trek.

The acting of this film was great. Patrick Stewart was touching, especially in the scene where he discusses the love for his family to Marina Sirtis. Malcolm McDowell gave a delicious performance as the villain obsessed with trying to get into the Nexus Ribbon. William Shatner wasn't even half-bad this go around. And Whoopi Goldberg was great in her small supporting role, and hopefully she will have more dramatic work in the future.

The cinematography on this film was beautiful, and by far, the best of the Star Trek film series. I'm surprised that it was not nominated for an Oscar, as I was surprised for the art direction. This film's look was a little bit darker than most Star Trek films, but it was very realistic.

If you are looking for a good drama with a thought out storyline, then you might want to try Star Trek: Generations, because even if you're not a Star Trek fan, you might be surprised by it.
