Fatso (1980)
Thought-provoking and very funny satire about weight consciousness
This is a wonderful satire not only on the weight-consciousness of society, but on what it is like to be part of a close-knit Italian family. I know, because I am part of such a family. Don't miss all of Anne Bancroft's wonderful expressions and gestures.
North by Northwest (1959)
Excellent
A lot has been said about this classic; I have always found it amazing that a woman eleven months younger than Cary Grant actually portrayed his MOTHER in this film! Grant was almost 55 when it was filmed.
The Hasty Heart (1949)
Must See!
This is a powerful drama, but with very subtle power that will have you captured by the end of the film. Richard Todd is very good as Lachie. I wanted the movie to go on for another half an hour.
The Opposite Sex (1956)
Campy remake of THE WOMEN
Joan Collins plays a feisty vixen as she re-enacts the role Joan Crawford played in THE WOMEN from the 1930's. June Allyson is her wimpy-washy usual self, loving to get hurt by her man (Leslie Nielsen looking luscious). Great shots of 1950's Ford cars especially the palomino Lincoln convertible at the "dudette ranch" for the future divorcees in Reno.
