Very, Very Funny
1 July 1999
Although, I'm not a major South Park fan, I found this movie to be very funny, and often hilarious. It's probably the most obscene, adult cartoon I've seen since "Heavy Metal". It's sure to offend a great many people, but hopefully those people will take a close look at the movie, and see the somewhat serious message it's trying to make.

Who is this movie for??
26 May 1999
After viewing the DVD version of Radioheads new documentary, I still don't know anything about them, except that one of the members doesn't like to be interviewed by the press because he comes across as stupid. I think that "OK Computer" and "The Bends" are two of the best albums I have ever heard, but not one single song is heard in its entirety in this movie. As a fan, there isn't much to enjoy here. It's even hard to hear the members speak because there is always a lot of background noise happening. The only people I can see really enjoying this movie are MTV obsessed teenage girls who just like to see the band and don't care about the music or what the band has to say. My rating: 5 out of 10.

The Eagles Still Have the Magic
26 May 1999
Very enjoyable Eagles concert, featuring many of their greatest hits, such as "Hotel California", "Life in the Fast Lane", and "Take it Easy". The opening documentary is interesting, but not very informative. My only complaint is that the concert isn't shown in it's entirety as it was performed, as several of the songs are presented out of sequence. So instead of getting an actual feeling of "being there", it feels more like watching a series of music videos. Still, the material holds up and still sounds great. My rating: 8 out of 10.

Revolutionizes the Horror Genre!!!
23 May 1999
I saw a sneak preview of this movie in Pasadena, and I was just totally blown away at how great this movie is. I can honestly tell you that this movie ranks with the classics of horror such as "Halloween", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", and "The Exorcist". It's been a long, long time since I've seen a movie that I can say was truly scary. And this movie IS scary. I just cannot praise this movie enough. It should go down in history as a landmark horror film.

Somewhat disappointing, but redeemed in the final 30 mins
20 May 1999
My main complaint with this movie is that it's way too talky. It has really great visuals and some great action sequences, but in between is a somewhat dull and plodding story. However, the last 30 minutes really kick butt, and we finally get to see an intense lightsaber duel with Darth Maul and the Jedi masters, as well as some real "Star Wars" style action. My rating: 7 out of 10.

A well-made movie that's aged badly
28 March 1999
I just saw the re-released version of this film in Los Angeles. And while it is definitely top-notch film-making, this movie comes across as comical now rather than horrifying. I can imagine British audiences in 1960 being very disturbed by this, this is one of the very first films that started the whole "slasher" genre. It's a worthwhile film more for its historical value than anything else.

Very good, but not great.
28 January 1999
As far as song selection goes, this is probably the best Neil Young concert movie out there. "Sugar Mountain", "After the Gold Rush", "My My Hey Hey", "Cinnamon Girl", "Like a Hurricane", and "Tonight's the Night" are all featured here. The only problem? This movie could have been trimmed by at least 15 minutes. Do we really need to see people dressed up like Jawas setting up the stage?

Mediocre Remake
12 December 1998
I was disappointed with this movie. How can a shot for shot remake be such a disappointment? The number one reason is the casting of Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates. This guy was just not scary or creepy. It all just seemed like a performance to me. Anthony Perkins seemed to become the character of Norman Bates, but Vaughn is just going through the motions. And why keep all that campy 60's dialogue? What is shocking to audiences in the 60's is not shocking in the 90's.

Piece of Garbage
12 December 1998
This is one of the worst pieces of crap I have ever seen. I saw this movie in a theatre, and when it was over, the audience BOOED it!! They really need to give up on the Texas Chainsaw sequels, because it's getting really sad.

The Greatest Film Ever Made
12 December 1998
Pink Floyd The Wall is quite simply the greatest film ever made. I've probably seen this movie 50 times and still don't get tired of it. The acting, cinematography, editing, and music are all top notch. It will go down in history as a landmark film!

Wacky plot...ok movie...
15 October 1998
Many people have complained about "Halloween III" because it doesn't have Michael Myers in it. That wasn't the idea. John Carpenter didn't want to make any more sequels after the first one, so he instead came up with a plan to create a new story for each new Halloween movie. Unfortunately this movie was such a disaster that no more were made. While it's not nearly in the same league as the original, it still has a corny charm to it. I appreciate it's originality. I mean...come on...a crazy maskmaker who uses pieces of Stonehenge to send lasers into children's skulls and cause spiders and snakes to come out as a result! You have to give the writer some credit for even conceiving such an idea!

Not that good. Pulse is better.
27 September 1998
This concert video is badly edited and weak. Wayne Isham does not know how to film a concert. Everything seems to be in slow motion. And "Comfortably Numb" is horribly edited!! For a much better film of Pink Floyd in concert, get "Pulse" instead. Or even "Pink Floyd at Pompeii".

Horrible Film
22 September 1998
One of the worst movies I've seen this year. Everything about the film screams "AMATEUR". For a movie set in the 1800's, everybody speaks like it's the 1990's. The acting, particularly the people playing the white slave masters, is horrible. After about an hour into this movie, I walked out. What a waste of time and effort. For a much better film on this subject, see Steven Spielberg's far superior "Amistad."
