Three Men and a Leg (1997)

An exhilarating experience.

The three (four with Mrs. Massironi) best actor-comedians in the Italian performing arts scene decided to make a movie. And it is a blessing. It is just as if you were at one of their live performances: exhilarating. It almost work as a movie (and not only as an excuse for the trio to perform), and the additional possibilities of the new media are used (along with their performance and excellent lines) to create more and more fun.

Gandahar (1987)

A well crafted cartoon and a beautiful story

about time and utopic realities. The animation is wonderful and detailed. Everything serves perfectly the telling of the story. And the hand of Asimov is not only in the novel, but also in the adaptation to the screen, so that is faithful to his representation of life. Worth watching a few times.

Virus (1999)

Virus? A poor movie on all sides.

Sorry, this is really poor, the performance of the actors is bad, and the script does not help them, failing to give life to any believable character. It would be a better deal to go and see movies that went more in depth of a "Virus" alien, like the much undervalued "Star Trek: The motion picture", "Star Trek: First Contact", or "Aliens", which seems to have inspired some of the scenes of the movies.

Patch Adams (1998)

A nice movie, but a stereotyped script.

I cannot say this movie was bad. I saw Robin Williams having a good time and making us having a good time. I saw a good story about how to treat people as equals that came from the real "Patch Adams" book. And the actors were doing a good performance. The real problem of the movie is the script, which tastes like canned vegetables. It is stereotyped to the maximum, beginning from the excuses, as the Meat Packers Gran Gala, for letting Mr. Williams perform his natural gift, to the escalation of "The Bad Guy", "The Bad Guy that helps the good guy not forgetting his mission", "The final audience". It is all too line-assembled to be appreciated. The parts that were prepared to move the audience really moved me, but also left me with a the bitter taste that I was cheated of the truthfulness. But, since the message is so strong and needed by our society, nearly all the problems of the scripts can be forgiven.
