Cruel Intentions (1999)
THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN
Cruel Intentions is the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. THE PLOT is perfect. It has amhy twists and turns and reminded me very much of the great film WILD THINGS. SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR does a perfect job of playing the cold hearted bitch. It is very refreshing not seeing her play a cute innocent blond girl (ALTHOUGH I'LL NEVER GET TIRED OF THAT). RYAN PHILLIPEE AND REESE WITHERSPOON are perfect. There is one scene in which Ryan makes Reese cry and it was absolutely the best acting I have seen in a long time. JOSHUA JACKSON is pretty good although his part is very short. I was looking forward to seeing TARA REID since I liked her so much in URBAN LEGEND but she had like a 50 second part, but her part was very funny. The stand out performance was SELMA BLAIR, giving the best acting in the entire movie. She made Cecile naive but not annoying. The best part of the entire movie was either the Selma-Sarah kiss or the ending. This deserves 6 stars out of 5 because it goes a little bit farther than all of the recent teen flicks that have been released.
200 Cigarettes (1999)
BORING
This is a very boring movie, except for the end where you get to see who ended up sleeping with whom. Varsity Blues and Dead Man on Campus were better. HOW DID THEY GO WRONG - MTV HAS BEEN MAKING AWESOME MOVIES
Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane (1999)
AWESOME
Zoe Duncan Jack and Jane is an awesome show. It is just as good as the other perfect shows that the WB has such as Buffy and Dawsons Creek. The best thing about the show is by far Selma Blair. I can't wait too see her with my favorite actress, Sarah MIchelle Gellar in Cruel Intentions. I looked her up on IMDB and was shocked to see she was in IN AND OUT and CANT HARDLY WAIT so I watched them on DVD and was shocked too see her. She is a great actress. Michael Rosenbaum is also very good, I liked his character in URBAN LEGEND. Everytime I watch it I wonder whether it won't be funny and am always delighted too see it's in tip top shape. A MUST SEE.
Simply Irresistible (1999)
Not good, Sarah is only good thing
This movie dragged, was unoriginal, and was a huge let down for me. The only good thing about the movie was Sarah Michelle Gellar, and she is the reason why anyone that sees it does. I was dissapointed because so far Sarah has chosen all the best roles. This is a real bad movie, it copies off of every POOR GIRL FALLS FOR RICH BOY AND MAGIC MAKES THEM FALL IN LOVE movie that has ever come out: Cinderella, Mary Poppins. I hope Cruel Intentions is much better.
She's All That (1999)
PERFECT MOVIE, BAD PROMOTIONS
When I went too see She's All That I expected a stupid unoriginal movie because of the way the commercials made it look. But what I saw was a very original and good film that took a very unoriginal plot and turned it into two hours of pure fun and originality. They took My Fair Lady and countless other films that go by the same storyline, and add in creative dance sequences, a cafeteria scene involving Pubic hair and a slice of pizza, and a cool Sarah Michelle Gellar Cameo. Rachel Leigh Cook is a very good actress, as is Jody Lyn O Keefe. Mathew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr are awesome as the two male leads, and Paul Walker sure is getting a lot of good exsposure lately in this movie and Varsity Blues. This was a very clever movie, but the commercial and preview lacked a lot.
Varsity Blues (1999)
Okay Film
This was an okay movie, definitely not the best film that the stars of DAWSONS CREEK have been in. I myself liked Urban Legends and Disturbing Behavior much better. But this was still a good movie. I thought Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek and whoever played Tweeder put on excellent performances. The part where Tweeder stole the cop car was really funny. I thought it was good too see James Van Der Beek playing something besides a geeky film fanatic. The only thing that sort of ruined it for me is all the scenes that where in the trailer but weren't in the film. For instance, the brown haired girl and Mox having sex on the hood of his car out in the woods, the part where the girl asks for Lance (Paul Walker) to give her an autograph on her butt, there where some more but I can't think of them. But it was worth seeing, I just hate it when they have things in the previews and commercials that aren't in the movie.
