A nice change for Pauly, interesting flick.

Personally, I found the film to be quite amusing. When I saw that Pauly Shore was in it, I expected another "Son in Law" character, but this is quite different!

The film doesn't attempt to cash in on Pauly Shore's previous acting history, and instead casts him as a good-natured, but somewhat underprivileged country boy. He manages to maintain a level of seriousness that keeps you interested in the fate of his misfortune.

The story is cute, and has some clever twists to keep you guessing... despite it's cliche-ridden characters.

I'd say it's a worthwhile rental or cable-TV movie. Especially if you like caper films.

Spice World (1997)

Whoa, was that a movie?

A friend and myself take great interest in following pop culture and entertainment trends... Enough so that we occasionally trek to Los Angeles just to be closer to the aura of the entertainment world. I was in London when the Spice Girls went to the top of the charts there, so I witnessed their phenomenon twice.

That in mind- I must say that "Spice World" has got to be, hands down, the worst movie that I have ever seen. The acting is just outright uninspired and lousy. The plot line... well.. let's just say you won't have to think much during this movie.

It is so bad that we both have recommended it to friends on the premise that you'll never see another movie as bad as it. :) Personally I nominate the birth scene for worst acted scene in the history of the entertainment world.

Looking for similar pictures? Check out "Cool as Ice", Vanilla Ice's movie of the same genre. It's actually a little better than this one.

In Dreams (1999)

Sitting through it was the most frightening part.

I really did not find this movie interesting. The story line is painfully weak, the acting is decent, but not great. The progression through the story is very predictable. If you like bad suspense films, catch this one. Otherwise- save your money and watch it on cable. This movie is nowhere near the quality of "Silence of the Lambs" or "Seven".

Dave (1993)

Loved it! Near the top of my political satire list.

I re-watched Dave recently and found the film to be a wonderful, laughable, and touching political satire film. It's just serious enough to keep one's attention, with the right amount of Hollywood sappiness thrown in for variety. The performances are great, and the humor keeps surprising you. The plot line is VERY similar to the wonderful Paul Mazursky film "Moon Over Parador" which I also highly recommend!
