Toy Story 2 (1999)
the best movie I have ever seen
Many times the sequel of a movie is worse then the first one.
Not in this case. In the case of Toy Story, the sequel is better then the first one. Don't get me wrong. Toy Story 1 is a super movie, but Toy Story 2 is even better.
Before I got both movies together on DVDs, I knew that they where movies for kids - but after seeing them, I gotta say, I was wrong. Toy Story 1 and 2 are not only for kids, but for everybody. I am a kid - a 26 year old kid ... at least that's how I feel right now.
I can't remember the last time, when I laughed so much during a movie. There are so many great funny scenes. And all the toys look so cool and nice (over here in Germany, the Mr. Potato Head ain't very popular. But because of Toy Story, I just ordered a Mr. and a Mrs. Potato Head for me)
Also, this movie will tell you some good things about friendship. Just look at the friendship between Woody and Buzz. Or betweeen Woody and Andy. Or between all the other toys. But there are also some tragic moments, like when Jessie tells about her life before she met Woody.
One of the best scenes of the movie was (warning, small spoiler ahead): After the movie, in the closing credits, they showed the outtakes. Like for example: Buzz closes his helmet and you can see that Woody painted a mustache on it ... Watching the entire movie and then watching the outtakes was too much for me. I was laughing so hard, that tears were coming from my eyes. I can't remember the last time that I laughed so hard during a movie.
This movie is already one of my all-time favorite movies.
Bear in the Big Blue House (1997)
not only for kids but for everybody
I saw this show the first time because of my nephew and niece, twins aged 3.
From the first time I saw it, I loved it.
Basically, all you need to know is: It is made by Jim Henson Company. I mean, when I was a kid, I loved Sesame Street and I loved the Muppet Show. Now I am 25, and I really like this show, too. And, unlike many other kids tv (Pokemon, Teletubbies), even as an adult you can watch the show, without going insane.
In my eyes, it is the perfect Kids TV. When the Bear talks towards the camera, the kids really get involved in the show. You can't go wrong with that show.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996)
the TV series is way better
**SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** I have seen the tv series and loved it. So, I was really looking forward to the movie. But I was really disappointed. The plot is awful. There are many similar teenager movies. A normal guy (Harvey) falls in love to a Girl (Sabrina). But she loves the top athlete of the school (Seth). She dates him, finds out that he is a dork, and finally falls in love with the other guy (Harvey).
The fact that Sabrina is a witch, is only a minor part in the movie. With some small changes, she wouldn't use her magic at all.
For me, the only thing that makes this movie worth watching it is some of the female actors.
The TV Series is way better.
Stroker Ace (1983)
it depends on what you want to see
from the view of a NASCAR Maniac like I am, the movie is interesting. You can see many race cars from 1983. Even tough, the racing scenes are not that much realistic. But I have to admit, that I haven't seen any race before 1995, because before that time, they didn't show any NASCAR races in Germany)
from the view of a Burt Reynolds fan like I am, the movie basically is what we are used to see from Reynolds in the 80's: Burt behind the wheel of a fast car, like in his Bandit Movies.
If you love NASCAR and Burt Reynolds, this movie is a must-see. If you only love one of this 2 things, I also recommend to watch it. If you like neither NASCAR nor Burt Reynolds, you still should give it a chance, but remember, this movie was far away from winning an Oscar Academy Award.
It is the typical humor of the 80's. If you like movies like the Cannonball Movies, and Police Academy, you will also like that one.
Hey Dad..! (1987)
Great comedy, one of my all-time favorites
I think, this comedy series is one of the best I have ever seen. If you are searching for a good laugh, try "Hey Dad". I can watch it 1000 times, and I can always laugh over the jokes. After watching this show over some time, the actors are almost becoming something like family members. When it was on air in my country, I never missed an episode.
