Entertaining, still unrealistic
25 September 1999
This movie was really quite entertaining. Action, action, action.... still some things were quite unrealistic. First of all: Why would a husband with such a beautiful wife try to get rid of her? Somehow he must have had some reason we weren't told, but anyways... A real judge would never ever let her just go, because she already had a penalty while she was innocent. The government would just say "Hey Ma'am we're sorry for the first time, here you get $10.000 to see we apologize - and may I see your hands for the handcuffs?". And if she would really not be prosecuted, why didn't she kill him right after she "bought" him at the auction? Would have been much cooler, a beautiful lady gets her gun and "BOOM BOOM BOOM" shoots him in his dumb, insidious head. But no, she had to wait till they were alone and nobody could see it... Well, anyways: It sounds like I disliked the movie. That's NOT true, I really liked it, it was entertaining. I give it a 7/10.

Great movie

This movie was just well-thought through from the very beginning to the very end. Actors were really realistic, language was chosen carefully. Also, all the hidden advice that was given to the watcher was clearly expressed but not too obvious. A 10/10 movie!

The Matrix (1999)

Pretty nice movie, but much too overrated...

Well, this movie was really enjoyable, I really liked it. The effects were cool, the plot something new and the whole thing just impressive. Just one thing that really annoyed me: The rating. My god, the rating!! IMDb gives "The Matrix" a 8.6 with 42.6% "10s" and in the Top 250 it is on place #28! My god, that can't be true - it was a good movie, but I've seen lots of movies that were better, not just 27!

Isn't the realism left a little bit behind?
14 September 1999
I know its a movie for children, but isn't it a little bit TOO unrealistic? I mean, have you ever seen 1-2 year olds that can speak? Or that could remember any episode of "Indiana Jones"? Anyone who could drive a Godzilla ("Raptar")-Vehicle? How does it come the parents aren't already being sued when they "lost" their children? And last but not least: One baby that wouldn't starve when left in the forest alone?!?

Where is the story?
14 September 1999
Well, it was quite entertaining. But instead of watching it twice I would rather watch an experimental ant colony... The whole story was just senseless and dumb. The spider-thing is an absolute catastrophe: Unrealistic, and cheaply computer-animated. All together it was just a movie where a real story was missing - it was just a cut of some freaky scenes...

I almost died while watching this movie, it was too BAD
14 September 1999
When watching this movie, I couldn't stay in front of the TV for more than 30 minutes. It was just TOO bad. First, the storyline: Okay, the education of an astronaut would take (i guess) about 5 years at least. To show some construction workers how to dig holes using a compressed air breaker would approximately take 5 to 20 minutes (depending on the intelligence). So why don't they teach highly-educated astronauts to dig holes instead of teaching some mental screwed-up guys to fly an spacecraft? It can't be too hard, believe me. And those spaceships, they fly with about 14.000 km/h through a field of meteorits? I would say at this speed a particle the size of ca. 1 cubic centimeter (about the size of one marble) would make the whole spacecraft bust into a million pieces. But of course the steering system is so advanced that this doesn't happen. Please, please, please, please: Don't do any more of this apocalypse-crap movies any more. Thank you.

This movie was too bad to be serious - ridiculous
13 September 1999
This movie was really the worst I've ever seen! The scenery was terrible, you noticed they just used two elements while creating it: plastics and paper. The storyline was just weird, not to mention the many logical mistakes they made... How can the two guys speak when there's a vacuum? Why does the good guy not kill the bad guy, but instead just make him unconscious and lay him directly next to his laser-phaser-hyper-blaster-cannon-gun? Why is the android smoking? Why is the android smoking a cigarette? Why is the android laughing? Why is the android playing around on his chair? Why does the bad guy immediately kill Gibson after he gave him the "code" instead of let him alive and say he'll verify it and when its wrong he'd kill his wife? Why is quantum-physics (artificial gravity!) more advanced than artificial intelligence (android needs this earclip instead of recognizing the faces)? Just one more question: Why would anyone spend money on such a BAD movie?
