This film is amazing! OK, the basic story-line may have been seen before, but that should not detract from this movie, or stop anyone from seeing it. The performances are brilliant, especially Bruce Willis, who is at his best, and Haley Joel Osment who should definitely be nominated for awards! His performance as Cole Sear, the little boy who can see dead people, is simply heartbreaking. He is so believable as someone who is very, very scared and unable to tell anyone. Yes, if you think about it you can see the twist coming a mile away, but it doesn't matter at all. Just sit back and enjoy one of the best films of the year. I thoroughly recommend this film.

A disappointment

Having seen and read the play a few times, I was looking forward to this adaptation. However, I was disappointed with the final product. There were certainly moments; the play within the play was particularly outstanding, but there just weren't enough of them to make this film worthwhile. Rupert Everett, Stanley Tucci and Kevin Kline were brilliant, Calista Flockhart was good as Helena and some of the others held their own. All in all, I have seen so many Shakespearean adaptations which were good, that this one, which had so much potential, just seems to fail. You should wait to rent the video.

There is one word I can use to sum up this film: weird. It's one of those films that, even though you're thinking it's really quite slow and boring, you can't actually get up and walk out of it because it is nevertheless still gripping. Not a film I would particularly recommend for anyone to spend their hard earned cash on, but not as bad as some reviews have made out. It would probably be better watching it in the comfort of your own home.
