Family fun
17 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie the first time around. True there may be some cliché themes, but it is a Christmas movie. So, give it a break. I know the critics hated it. Perhaps they lost sight of what the movie is supposed to be about: asking Santa for the ultimate gift a re-united family.

Now that I am a parent I appreciate this film even more. The daughter who is now 6, loves the film and can immediately identify with the character Hailey, played by Thora Birch. Laruen Bacall reminds me a lot of my own grandmother. Bottom line: if you haven't seen this film yet, watch it with an open mind. Even better, watch it with a child.

The Jane Show (2004–2007)

Decent show
8 June 2006
Teresa Pavlinek was a popular member of the Toronto Second City cast. She has done numerous guest spots and commercials up here in Canada. Finally someone has the sense to create a show for her. The supporting case seems quite good too. I have now watched the pilot several times and I still find it refreshing. Though, I am not sure why the show is listed as The Jane Show 2004. (I might be wrong) But as far as I am aware, the show was conceptualized in 2005 and appeared on Global TV in Canada in early 2006. It is a fresh idea and hopefully it does well. Too bad this couldn't be paired up with Corner Gas. Now I know Corner gas is on CTV, but the two shows would be great companion pieces.

Movie failed to end fast and furious enough
8 August 2002
What an over-rated piece of trash. If you're 8 years old and you love your Tonka toys, then this movie is for you. If you're looking for plot, character development, etc... don't waste your time renting this garbage movie out. YUCK

Close to 2 hours of continuous laughter
13 August 2001
This movie was a lot of fun. There are some scenes that made me laugh so much, I thought I was going to poop myself.

The cast was great. John Lovitz, Rowan Atkinson and Whoopi Goldberg were in rare form. The only actor I found to be under-used was John Cleese. I won't spoil anything for anybody. All I can say is that he plays an eccentric millionaire.

If you've had a rough week and truly enjoy yourself I would definitely recommend this movie

A great movie, but not for everyone

If you can get past the foul language, this is a entertaining movie. My wife walked out after the opening scene in the restaurant. She just couldn't handle the excessive profanity. I am a little more tolerant. I found this black humour movie extremely funny. The cast was great, especially, Steve Buscemi

The Best Christmas movie ever made
26 October 1999
Alastair Sim is by far the best SCROOGE of all time. His portrayal is superb. Never has Charles Dicken's classic been better told. This is a Christmas Eve must see. I am glad that I own the video, because many of the television stations have abandoned showing this movie on Christmas Eve.
