Mr. Destiny (1990)
This Movie Should Make You Think...
This movie is one of my favorites because it makes me think of all the choices I have made and how my life would change if my choices had been different. It plays right into the " Multiple Universe " theory.
The only thing that doesn't ring true is how Larry Burrows ( James Belushi)has such a hard time understanding what is going on, that everything has changed.
Blast from the Past (1999)
A very funny movie, much to my surprise
When the movie first came out I thought it sounded pretty dumb. I didn't watch it until tonight, because it was a slow night on the tube. I laughed out loud, uncontrollably, many times during the movie. Brendan Fraser is great, and the rest of the cast, including Sissy Spacek, Christopher Walken, Dave Foley and Alicia Silverstone, is great. I highly recommend this film. I plan to pick it up on DVD ASAP.
Clockwatchers (1997)
Thumbs Up!
As I was surfing the cable the other day I ran across this movie and thought it was probably another insipid chick flick. To my surprise it was not that at all. Clockwatchers was clever and quirky enough to easily hold my interest for the rest of the movie. I had never heard of it , it must have been a direct to video movie, but I highly recommend it.
Seinfeld (1989)
Over and Over...
I watch the syndicated shows and I still almost choke laughing even though I have seen most of them 5-6 times. This show's sense of humor meshed with mine almost perfectly. Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer, Newman etc are sorely missed, and we shall not see their likes again (unless they come back at some point, please, please!)
Stir of Echoes (1999)
Underrated Supernatural Mystery
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this film. The reviews I had seen were generally not good, but when it hit the 2nd run theatres I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did. I have since rented this movie and my whole family, encompassing many different age groups, thought it was enjoyable.
I thought the film was effectively creepy, had enough unexpected plot twists, and had a fine cast. I particularly liked the job Kevin Bacon and Ileana Douglas did. I would highly recommend this film.
