Great Performances: Swan Lake (1998)
Wow!
I remember seeing this on TV a few years back, and I only thought of it again when I saw Billy Elliot. Billy grows up to be Adam Cooper (the main swan) in swan lake. It was amazing. On the point of the supposedly gay Prince, I thinks Adam's explanation is the best. The swan is not a guy in a swan's outfit, he is a swan. You have to think of him as a creature not a gender. The Prince fell in love with a beautiful swan not a man in swan suit. And Adam Cooper is gorgeous, and absolutely brilliant!
Bootmen (2000)
Wow...
What else can I say but wow! I thought the story was really good, not at all unbelievable. I loved the whole brother thing with Sean and Mitch, they were so typically Australian! Go the flannelettes! I was really there for the dancing (and Adam Garcia) and it took a while to get there, but i loved it when he dropped the hammer at the steelworks and heard the sound and as they say, the rest is history! It was awesome when they started putting the show together, there was so much energy! And when "that thing" happened with Mitch, that was really sad and I thought it was cool that Sean kept going with the Bootmen thing. Ok, the dancing... Once again...wow! I can't believe how good they were! When they started doing the more macho dancing I was totally covered in goosebumps! And the sound of the taps on metal! It was brilliant! The energy coming out of those dance scenes was overwhelming! So 10/10 on the dancing easy! Adam Garcia... What can I say, the man's a legend! Not only is he absolutely, totally, indescribably hot! but he's an awesome (and I mean AWESOME!) dancer! I'll have him over the guy from Riverdance any day! This is the first movie I have seen with Adam in it and I hope it won't be the last! In case I haven't made my thoughts on Adam clear, here it is nice and simple... HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT! HOT!
So an easy 10/10 for the totally delicious (and talented of course) Adam Garcia! The only tiny thing that brought it down was the not-so-spectacular dancing at the beginning, but that got better half way through. But I'd rather have dancing than dialogue! In short (ha!), brilliant movie, great dancing, great actors, great body (thank you Adam!) and enough energy to blow the roof off! I wanna see it again! (and again and again and again...)

Scary Movie (2000)
Awesome! Hilarious!
Damn this movie was funny! I had been watching out for this movie since before it came out in America so I went and saw it a few days after it came out in Australia. Let me just say that this is a total gross-out comedy! But a comedy indeed! The whole theatre audience was in stitches for the most part of the movie and there were even some bursts of applause! Certainly, if you don't appreciate that kind of humour, don't see the movie. But if you can stand movies where most of the jokes are sex-based, i strongly urge you to see Scary Movie! I counted at least 15 movies that there were take-offs from and mentions from TV shows like Dawson's Creek, The Brady Bunch and a subtle Buffy mention. It was hilarious! Totally awesome! And I would see it again, any day! 10/10! Easy! Go see the movie!
Urban Legend (1998)
What is everyone complaining about?
I'm doing a group assignment at school about (gasp!) death and everyone said that we should use Urban Legend as an example of cold-blooded murder. Well, i was the only one who hadn't seen it so I rented it out. I wanted to see it when it first came out cos Josh Jackson was in it (hey! I was young!) but I wasn't old enough yet. Anyhow, I don't know what everyone is complaining about! Just about all the user comments I've read are bad!
I thought the movie was pretty good! It didn't scare me much (although there were a few jumps in there) but I enjoyed it none the less.
Alicia Witt was very good. I haven't seen her in any other shows or movies so this was a good first impression.
Jared Leto I had never heard of. But why didn't anyone tell me what a looker he was! Yum! Of course his acting was good too...
Good old Josh looked pretty yummy as a blonde and he really fit the campus prankster character.
SPOILER!! Rebecca Gayheart was really good. I actually had no idea that it was her.... and she looked really evil when she was holding poor natalie hostage. END SPOILER!
So, in conclusion (ugh!)... I thought the movie was cleverly done and I really enjoyed the whole Urban Legend concept. Except I'm a bit worried about the sequel starring Joey Lawrence.... Oh well, I'll have to wait and see....
9/10!!! definitely! bravo!
