When Did You Fall in Love with Hip-Hop?
13 October 2002
This movie brought up some memories! I was in the theater remembering the first rap song that had me feeling Rap---P.S.K, Schooly D! Yeah, that and the Message, memories! This was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, it wasn't corny and unrealistic like The Best Man, it dealt with real people and real situations. You could really see yourself going thru the same thing with a friend. That not knowing, and being scared to follow thru and doing everything but tell that person how you really feel! I really recommend this movie to anyone who loves Hip-Hop, who needs to see a great movie, and anyone, like me, who remembers the classics.

Oh, and Taye Diggs was doing something in this movie! I haven't been feeling him like that, but this movie changed things. All of the actors and actresses were great, and it was nice seeing Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe in roles other than Terri & Damon. Mos Def and Queen Latifah were real cute too, mad funny! And of course, Sanaa Lathan represented as usual! This sister is the truth, it's always great seeing her in movies, she's just an awesome actress! Her and Taye Diggs have the best chemistry, make you wanna melt!

Horrible Movie
13 October 2002
This was the worst movie I've ever seen! When Chris Tucker said he wasn't going to do it, that should have been a clue, I mean, he made the first Friday. The first Friday was a classic, not to be messed with, and they put out this awful movie as a sequel. All I can say is, I'm glad I didn't pay any money to see this in the theater. I saw it on cable and was still mad, for wasting my time! And now, they have the nerve to make a Friday after next? WHY????

Don't get me wrong, I love Ice Cube, but this is just starting to get ridiculous. The character Day-Day is a flunkie, and he's not funny, and I just really hated this movie!

Loved It!

I think the movie as a whole was excellent. Oliver Stone did a great job, I felt as though I was inside the screen. The almost 3 hours didn't even feel like it, it felt like watching a Football game on Any Given Sunday. Jamie Foxx did a great job, you loved him at times and hated him at times, and he gave you great reason to do either. And of course Al Pacino was the man as always, playing a coach with heart and blowing you away at the end. Cameron Diaz was the best wicked witch, just a hard-core display of a woman of the millenium. All in all, anyone who thinks this movie had no plot, wasn't paying attention. All you have to do is see the change in the characters throughout the movie, and what the game meant to each one of them: from the owner, to the coach, to the players, to the doctors, to the families. Perfect example is the characters of both Ann Margaret and Lauren Holly. There is a lot of meaning in this movie. Kudos!
