A gay/straight show that makes me laugh out loud.
14 July 2001
I've been watching this show since the day it began. I LOVE watching Bateman and Nucci together - their chemistry is amazing. Whoever writes for this show (I keep telling myself to see who the writers are so I can remember but I keep forgetting) are superb! I also have to rave about Mapa and DeLuise who star as the extreme versions of a gay and straight man respectively - I literally role around on the floor when they do their stuff. It's also nice for a change that the shows chuckles don't only come from the supporting cast (as is the case with 'Will & Grace'). Please let them keep this show - it's one of my favourite.

Angel (1999–2004)
A show that should not be missed!
14 July 2001
Back when I found out that 'Angel' was to leave "Buffy" and have his own show I was very sceptical. But now I find myself a true fan of the "Angel" series. It just keeps getting better every week. In South Africa we are a bit luckier I guess because we don't follow the same seasons that the Americans do - here we simply have "Buffy" and then comes "Angel". This means our VCR's don't have to go overboard.

This show is truely great. The humour alone is enough to keep you watching. Sometimes I'll be laughing for 2 minutes straight and will have to rewind the tape and start watching from where I'd lost track. The other day I found myself chuckling about something that Wesley had done on the previous episode! The show is great - keep it going!

A western that didn't bore me to death!
27 March 2001
This was one of the only westerns that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm no fan of this genre but I was given a chance to change my mind. I also became a HUGE fan of Russell Crowe after seeing this film. Hackman was the perfect villan and Stone is one of the few woman in Hollywood that could have pulled off the role. I was expecting the

whole superwoman performance but what I found was a wonderful mix of a woman who was just trying to stay alive in a male-dominated world, with that good-old 'revenge' theme that works so well with almost every western ever. I recommend to anyone whose looking for a GOOD movie - this is the way to go (for guys and girls).

Harsh Realm (1999–2000)
Now this is what I call a great sci-fi show!
3 March 2001
I loved every minute of this show. D.B. Sweeney has been a favourite of mine for years and it was pure delight to see him on TV again. I was told that the show was cancelled after the first season - I would personally like to slap the person who made that decision.

For all those poor souls who didn't watch the show - you have no idea what you were missing. I did not expect Carter to make another

"X-Files" (of which I am a huge fan), and he didn't. He was very original and created something that I've never seen before. Thanks for making this show - it was great!

Deep Blue Sea (1999)
It delivers what it purports to be - FUN!

I am a huge Harlin fan and the man didn't disappoint me, again. It doesn't take a brain-surgeon to watch Harlin's movies (this movie included) and that is exactly what I want and got. I walked out of the cinema at the end feeling electrified, as if I just completed a funfilled obstacle course. For those who are expecting amazing storylines and Oscar-performances, you have bought the wrong ticket. This movie is a must for anyone who loves action movies with superior special effects and a very straight-forward plot. Long live Harlin!

Charmed (1998–2006)
A great mixture of magic and girl-power!
12 November 2000
Being a girl myself this show follows well after the success of Buffy. I feel that the writing is perhaps a little inferior to Buffy. I still love it though and what makes the show is the chemistry between Doherty, Combs and Milano - they were born to play these roles together. The Halliwell's RULE!!

Big Daddy (1999)
Really funny and too American
12 November 2000
Warning: Spoilers
I'm one of the few people I know that actually thinks Sandler is funny. And Sandler didn't let me down - the movie is funny. SPOILER: But, the last 15 minutes spoiled the entire movie. Let's just say I couldn't wait for the credits to come up. Why you ask? That typical American plot where the hero wins his loved one by pouring out his soul to them in front of total strangers. Shame. But - overall it was really good.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!
12 November 2000
I'm not the biggest fan of romantic movies and would prefer action and thrillers. This movie doesn't dwell too far into the actual romantic parts - which suited me fine! It is however a chic flick. I consider this film as being one of the best of '98 (and I do not care what the critics thought of it!).

Push (1998)
Oh, it looked so good!
12 November 2000
I really enjoyed the pilot and the FEW episodes that followed. I am, however, a bigger fan of "Roswell" so in a way I'm kind of greatful that the show was cancelled. It would be great if a show similar to "Push" could be made because it had great potential.

A sci-fi classic!
31 August 2000
I really, really enjoyed this film. I was only able to watch it about a month after it was released and because of bad press I walked into the theater a very sceptical person, but WOW! It was such a joy to watch. I was so angry that this film got such bad ratings. I found the subject of 'earth invasion' was approached with a lot of style. Travolta was great and Pepper as Tyler was an excellent choice. In a sci-fi one must always stretch the imagination (which was probably one of the reasons it was disliked) but I found this also in "Star Wars" and we all know how well that did. This was one film which deserved a lot more praise than it got.

Roar (1997)
Why, oh why?
31 August 2000
I accidently taped Roar one day and having nothing else to watch, decided to give it a go. It was one of the best TV shows I have EVER seen. It was funny and so well written, and the fact that Ledger is so good just added to it's perfection. And then - GONE!!! When I saw Ledger a few months later in "10 Things I hate about you" I knew then and there that (a) Ledger would not be doing his Conor thing again and (b) without Ledger as Conor, there was no Roar. So, again we were given the taste of near-perfect entertainment to only have it ripped away from us.
