The House on 92nd Street (1945)
A good way to spend an evening
I love to watch the old movies from the 30's, 40's and fifties. My municipal library has a great varied DVD collection and they just added a collection of "film noir" . I am working my way through all of them at a clip of 5 or 6 a week. This week I watched "The House on 92 Street". It was fun trying to pick out some of the young actors playing bit parts who are now very recognizable. I have one question, when the FBI agent is looking for a memory specialist act. Is the man playing the part of the talent agent Morey Amsterdam? It looks a little like him but it sounds even more like him. I did a search of IMDb but it came up empty for an uncredited part for him in this movie. Does anybody know? Thanks.
The Strawberry Blonde (1941)
A very enjoyable, different type role for Cagney
Very entertaining, funny, and well acted movie. A great cast including a young George Reeves (Superman). It starts out as a comedy but has a lot of serious moments without being preachy. It is hard to believe that Cagney would come in second in anything in life but he plays the part perfectly.
