Harrison Bergeron (1995 TV Movie)
Good by itself, but not if you're a Vonnegut fan.

I cannot say that this was a bad movie. If it were an original story, it would be decent. Not great, but decent. The Vonnegut short story was excellent, but this movie has little to do with that story. Not that it is easy to make a full length movie from a short story only several pages long. However, the makers of this film based their creation only very loosely, and I mean VERY loosely, on the original. The setting was right, and Harrison's intelligence level was right, although physical appearance was all wrong. Other than that they just took Vonnegut's vision of a future world and did their own thing with it. So, if you read Vonnegut, prepare to be disappointed. See Mother Night instead. If you have never read the short story, go ahead and watch this movie though. You don't have anything to lose.

WHOA!

I can honestly say that this is the strangest movie I have ever seen. It is not bad, just really weird. There doesn't seem to be any other way to describe it well. It's also very easy to get lost in it. Crazy camera action. Crazy things. Crazy people. WEIRD!
