It Chapter Two (2019)
IT is really bad.
This movie is about 2 hours too long. The story is disjointed. The acting is not that great. If you love movies where CGI monsters chase people, or you want to find somewhere to hide for 3 hours, then this movie is for you. If you want a good story, good directing, or good acting, then this movie is not for you.
Dumb: The Story of Big Brother Magazine (2017)
Thoroughly enjoyed it
I was into Big Brother magazine when it was around, and followed the guys on to Jackass. It brought back a lot of fond memories - I wish I could jump back to the 90s and relive those days. Obviously I already knew much of the story but much of it was new to me. It was pretty interesting to see how all these random characters came together to create something extremely unique and very entertaining. Worth checking out especially if you're a fan of Jackass or skateboarding.
Waiting for 'Superman' (2010)
Lousy
If you know anything about the current state of the USA's education system, then don't bother watching this movie because they won't tell you anything you don't already know.
This movie has very little originality, be it the content or the way it was delivered. Really that sums everything up. It is very slow moving, very repetitive, and ultimately quite boring.
Good luck to the people in the movie who are trying to improve the education system in the United States but I hope no more movies are made about it unless they are a lot better than this one and actually contain some interesting content.
Serenity (2005)
I'm sorry, I don't get the hype around this movie.
I saw this movie tonight. Myself, my best friend, and then there was some guy. That was the entire audience for a weeknight show at a popular Chicagoland movie theater. This movie was terrible! I won't even be nit-picky about the lousy special effects.. but the characters, you don't care about them.. the jokes, were not funny.. the plot..err was there a plot? I loved the various Star Trek series and was a huge fan, but I just can't see that happening with this garbage. Really, this movie at best is a B-movie. It should have been a made for TV movie on WB or UPN, as that would have made much more sense. I really don't mean to badmouth the movie but my friend and I both thought it was lousy.
Cinderella Man (2005)
Slightly better than average movie, but nothing special
This movie has nothing special about it, it is a story we've all seen a hundred times before. You don't care about the characters, the acting is mediocre, Russell Crowe's accent is lousy, there isn't much of a story.. It's all so.. blah. I really hope this movie doesn't win many if any awards, there are plenty of contenders who deserve recognition more than this uninteresting movie. Renée Zellweger was decent in it but again it wasn't a performance worthy of any gratuitous attention. There are many bad shots in the movie, and they need to work on their lighting and sound skills. For such a Hollywoodized production you'd think they wouldn't mix shots of light and darkness for one scene (one in particular, when they were outside of the church) and the sound wouldn't crackle so much but maybe that is a theater problem. This movie doesn't deserve half of the hoopla it receives.. Final verdict: move along, nothing to see here.
28 Days Later... (2002)
Lousy
This movie is lousy. I read in the paper that it is supposed to be one of the scariest movies.. I honestly never once got the slightest bit scared. The roaring/screeching/screaming of the zombies is more annoying than scary. Let's see.. The film quality was crap, I could have produced better quality with a $100 camera.. In scenes where the city is supposedly empty, there is one shot where a car is driving in the background, and another shot where there is a man walking down the street, but our main character somehow misses both of them. Aside from the movie being pure garbage, the last 5 minutes really got to me. The last 5 minutes are of much higher video quality, and given how it ends prior to the 'last 5 minutes' it seems Hollywood wasn't satisfied with letting the movie end there ("choose your own ending") and added a much happier ending. But really I don't care and these people could have all died and I wouldn't have cared either. The only way this movie could have been redeemed is if the girls were bred. Actually even that wouldn't have done it.
Confidence (2003)
Blah
Confidence is a poor attempt at making a Snatch/Ocean's 11-style movie. The movie is extremely boring, then at the end the movie explains how they were able to pull it off, when it was blatantly obvious the entire time. Avoid this movie.
Chicago (2002)
Blah movie, boring, not worth seeing.
I didn't care for this movie.. It was extremely boring, not entertaining at all. I nearly fell asleep in it. A friend told me "If you loved Moulin Rouge, you will LOVE this" and well I LOVED Moulin Rouge, but, eh, this.. bah. Sorry, I don't see what the hype is about. Thumbs down. (4/10)
Queen of the Damned (2002)
Incredibly bad, but AWESOME soundtrack
Unfortunately that's about all I have to say about this one. The movie wasn't that great, of course Hollywood had to go ruin it by clashing two Anne Rice novels into one crap movie.
And on the good side, Jonathan Davis is an excellent composer. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack. I like it more and more and more and....
Heist (2001)
This movie stunk, bigtime, do not see it.
My friend and I walked out of it (to go see Ocean's 11 again).. Heist was absolutely horrible... did anyone else happen to notice a lot of talking about nothing? "Hey man.. let's go do the thing".. "yeah.. I want to do the thing".. "aw darn now we can't do the thing".. "shoot yeah I really wanted to do the thing"... OHH I don't care what THE THING is... seeya later ya dumb movie.
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Full of hilarious parts, but also drags
I gave this movie a 7 because I haven't laughed so hard at any movie for quite some time, if ever. Alot of the gags were similar to what Tom did on his TV show, but some were just entirely beyond that and I couldn't stop myself from laughing, even minutes later. I saw in the paper and was appalled to see that the movie was given ZERO STARS. I admit it's not one of the best movies I've ever seen, but it's certainly far better than many movies I've seen given 2 or more stars. After we saw this movie, we were interviewed by some elderly (60+ yrs old) people, and after I gave my comment, I asked how they liked the movie.. I was surprised to hear them say that the older crowd loves it!?At any rate, this movie is DEFINITELY worth checking out.
Fight Club (1999)
Excellent!
i JUST saw this movie recently and all I gotta say is I LOVED IT. I rented it and watched it 6-7 times. It's amazing.. many of my personal beliefs are in-line with this movie. It's what I've been preaching all along. I hope this movie helps open up peoples' eyes.
The In Crowd (2000)
Bad Bad Movie.
I was out on a date with this girl and she was like "You gotta see this movie, I saw it yesterday and it's awesome". The movie was just horrible. If the girl playing "Brittany" wasn't in the movie, I would have walked out.. without my date even! Needless to say I'm not planning a 2nd date. Anyways I gave the movie a 2/10 for the eye candy.
Alfred Packer: The Musical (1993)
Hilarious!
My friend was like man you gotta see this movie.. so I sat through it the first time wondering what non-prescribed drugs my friend was on, and kept asking him "god when is this going to be over". Well after the movie ended, I couldn't help but remember most of the songs and the incredibly wacky lyrics. This movie is simply hilarious. If you didn't like it the first time, I highly suggest watching it again a few days later to really appreciate its comedic value. I also found it pretty interesting/funny when Trey and Matt were making fake voices during the film that sounded extremely similar to South Park characters. Being an aspiring movie writer/director, I am really amazed at the overall talent of Trey Parker. He wrote every song, the story, sang (rather well also).. very talented guy.. Kudos to him!
The Patriot (2000)
I don't plan on seeing this one again
Being not a fan of Mel Gibson, nor the slightest bit inclined to see the movie based upon the previews, I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, I was still let down. The storyline was horrible, the movie dragged on forever while 90 minutes would have been more than sufficient. Usually my emotions come into play during the emotional parts, but despite this movie's seemingly strong efforts to provoke my emotions, it simply did not and failed pretty miserably. The backdrops were horrible, obviously artwork.. forgettable characters.. mildy decent acting, Mel playing a typical role for him.. nothing new here.. music sounded extremely similar to the theme of "Jurassic Park"... there's just nothing good to be said about this movie. It will probably do well over the holiday weekend because of its patriotism and will make people feel more patriotic, but other than being a gimmick to get massive crowds at the theatres, this movie stinks. I give it a 4/10.
