The Kid (2000)
A Disney film, very good
I saw this movie tonight for the first time. I have decided that nobody has a sense of humor. I enjoyed this movie very much. Certainly a different role for Bruce Willis. The little boy, who plays Russ Duritz, at age 8 is very good also. Thought that Lily Tomlin was wasted but again I think that nobody has a sense of humor.
Gone with the Wind (1939)
absolutely the best movie ever made, have seen it over 100 times
This is by far my favorite film. I have seen it over 100 times starting when I was only 5 years old. Everytime it comes to town I have to see it. Still play the music from it every Saturday morning. The story of the old South lingers on but it is the romance that I like. I know people didn't think Vivian Leigh was right for the part but I think she did a fantastic job. Clark Gable was just right for the part. Have read the book probably 15 or more times. Marking all my favorite passages. Can't believe that anyone can call it down but of course they do. I guess that is what makes the world go round "to each his own". Bobbie
Dear Ruth (1947)
a good movie, that perhaps doesn't hold up as well as somesome
I though this movie very good. All actors in it were more or less stars of the time. The title, Dear Ruth, is perfect. Good to see William Holden. Is a little old-fashioned but holds up pretty well. I really don't know what else to say. I enjoyed this movie when it first came out and I still enjoy it.
Frances (1982)
saw first in black & white
Thought I had seen this movie before, but remembered it in black & white. Had seen it on a black and white TV. Saw it again the other night and am fascinated how much Jessica Lange, looked like Frances Farmer. Thought a lot of the movie after I watched it. Haunts me.
