INXS: The Great Video Experience (1994)
Continues from the Greatest Hits
After releasing a greatest video hits 1980-1990 INXS had 3 more albums and the Greatest Hits on CD to follow up, this video concentrates on this era (1991-1994). This video is a documentary style commentary on the videos from X, welcome to wherever you are and full moon dirty hearts. INXS remind us that they were a brilliant band even in the 90s although the fans disappeared after the Kick album from 87. This is a must see for all music fans. 10/10.
The 6th Day (2000)
Science fiction and action at its best!
This movie is simply awesome! Arnie proves that he can still produce his best at this age. This has got to be one of his finest movies along with Predator and T2. This movie reflects the importance of banning human cloning, a very frightening subject. Love the way the film is portrayed through the eyes of the 3rd man. 10/10
INXS: Live Baby Live (1991)
The Greatest Ever Wembley Concert?
This concert was performed out to 80,000 screaming fans at Londons Wembley stadium. INXS after two massive albums Kick and X (and an impressive back catalogue) in the UK finally decided on a stadium show. This video captures INXS at their best and shows the world why they are rumoured to be one of the greatest live acts of all time. With songs such as Suicide Blonde, Mystify, Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart and Disappear INXS show that stadium rock is their speciality. I have watched this Video over and over, i only wish it tracks from welcome to wherever you are were also featured in this release but of course that album wasnt released until a year after this concert. I hope one day this could be released on DVD (or any item of INXS for that matter on DVD). 10/10.
Mohabbatein (2000)
Very good, but also very long!
This movie without doubt has the best soundtrack from any thing bollywood has ever thrown at us. The film is also one of the best. There are 4 love stories thrown into one here. I can see why the 3 love stories were needed, but were they needed to be shown in this much debth? I would have liked more time spent on the main love story instead involving Sharookh and the guest star. The tension between The Sharookh and Amitabh should have been more so, they were acting like friends instead of people who hate each others guts. All in all it was very entertaining, but if it wasnt for the quality of the songs the length of the film would have overshadowed the quality.
Face/Off (1997)
Made me lose my head!
When it comes to action movies there's no one better than Jon Woo, and he without doubt proves it here. Face/Off mixes realistic science fiction and hardcore action and comes up with a masterpiece. I only went to watch this film becuase i saw the INXS video for the soundtrack theme "Dont Lose Your Head" and i was impressed as much by the song as i was by the action clips in the video. Im very glad they used John Travolta and Nicolas Cage for this and not Arnie or Van Damme as the acting quality throughout the movie is superb. Nothing against my two fave action heroes but theyve had their day and its time for fresh "faces" having said that Nick and John are also coming to end of their action days! 10/10
