Son of the Mask (2005)
absolutely pathetic
this has to be one of the most painful movies that i've seen. the plot just sucks. the special effects don't look even half as good as the original. the actors could do with some acting lessons. the director seriously needs some tuition in how to make a movie. the lead actor can't match up to Jim Carey and his rubber face. the actress isn't even close to Cameron Diaz, and hardly has a role to play in the whole movie. the kid is a little entertaining, but can't pull the whole movie off on his own.
over all, one of the most horrible movies that i've seen. actually felt like pulling my arms off so i would have something to throw at the screen. a huge disappointment, as most sequels tend to be.
Kaal (2005)
painful movie
the movie doesn't contain any plot or substance. there are two item number routines, one to start the movie off, and another to end it off.
other than these, there is nothing much interesting in the movie.
the two actresses try to display as much flesh as possible, which is a little confusing, considering that the whole movie is shot in the middle of a jungle. one must admit that the director has utilized the resources at his disposal in this department well.
the tigers don't appear long enough in the script. when they do its quite an artificial scene. hardly something that makes one tremble with fear.
biggest issue is the disconnect between the pitching of the movie through its two songs, while the movie has nothing to do with them.
