Shipley Street (1982)
Not Bad
A reasonable film which touched on the racism point of view. Many times now when I think of the word 'Shipley', I now think racism. Shame really.
Still an interesting attempt with some poor dialogue (7/10)
Kojak: Flowers for Matty (1990)
Kojak at his best.
I have always said that Matty did not deserve flowers but when I saw Tel deliver this masterpiece I was not sure. What captured my was the suspense this show captivated and how it brought the plot together for the climax.
All in all a good watch, go for it.
Big Train (1998)
Watch this, it's something to do....
Well it is not the funniest thing on TV, and not all that original, but give it a go, it passes the time.
A few funny moments brighten the time spent viewing and Simon Pegg is amusing as ever, so I say why not....
Crane (1963)
Interesting series that never got it's due attention
This series, although short, captured my imagination, and I loved the interaction between the characters. There were some laughs, but mainly the drama was gripping, but entertaining.
I would recommend that if you did not catch the Crane first time round, you work darn hard to catch the re runs.
Alibi (1997)
Great stuff, pure entertainment
Well when watching this film late one night I was simple amazed by it's greatness. Fantastic script, great acting, costumes and special effects, and the plot twists, wow!! In fact if you can see the ending coming you should become a writer yourself.
Great, I would recommend this film to anyone, especially if I don;t like them much.
Terrific
The Entity (1982)
Paul Neilson at his best
When I watched this moving I was amazed by the standard of the camera technician/visual effects unit and dazzled by their expertise in setting the mood for a very scary film.
So imagine when I found out that the best ever camera technician: visual effects unit man worked on this film, Paul Neilson, I was not very shocked!!
His work has been heralded down the years from people in loftier positions than mine, but the light, the shades, the blackness the effects, absolutely first class. Congrates to the lad, wish him well in the future.
Great stuff.
The Office (2001)
Absolutely brilliant
I was bored one night trawling through the numerous sky digital channels when I found sky play, with a whole night devoted to the office.
It had just started and I thought what the hell. It went on for hours, but was the funniest thing I had seen for ages. No cheesy laughter, no stupid one liners just genuine comedy.
Tim has to be the greatest character ever, so sarcastic and dry, superb. I doubt this will travel well but pure quality.
I heard Ricky Gervais on his debut on XFM and he did his first link with his mic off and he sounded distant. Once he found this out he lambasted the engineer and the whole show, from then on I believe this man to be the funniest man alive. The office just goes to prove this.
Smoky Mountain Melody (1948)
The greatest ever Peter Kirby flick
What can you say about the main man Peter Kirby. This film highlights all that is good about his acting. His dashing good looks, his dazzling charm, his speedy with and most of all his overwhelming charisma. Watch this film, it's ace.
Good luck to Mr Kirby in future ventures.
Trigger Happy TV (2000)
The best thing since sliced bread
What can you say about this TV program. It's a guy walking around the streets playing the fool, and the funniest thing is watching the people's reactions. One such example is when he is wearing a fully striped burglar costume with a swag bag and be climbing over a garden wall and people will ask what he is doing and he would say "testing the wall" and they would walk away.
Dom Jolly is a genius, although I have to say I sometimes felt embarrassed watching his antics. If you get a chance to watch this jump at it. It is the funniest thing around.
