Yamakasi (2001)
Entertaining movie
22 November 2003
Although I am not an arrogant french man, who "poo-poos" all movies except for "masterpieces" I do know entertaining cinema when I see it. Yamakasi is a very entertaining movie, written by Luc Besson (Fifth Element, Leon, The Transporter) The action sequences, stunts, and storyline are more than enough to keep the average movie buff happy. I enjoyed this movie quite a bit as I kept the mindset of an action movie. Don't go to action/adventure movies and expect "Lawrence of Arabia" or something as equally epic.

Very enjoyable

Great horror movie, creepy special effects

One of the few horror movies to come out that I actually enjoyed watching from start to finish. I have no problems recommending this movie to anyone that likes the horror genre. Go see movies to do what I do, be entertained.

Don't listen to those "R.E." types that have no idea what they're talking about, and only like letterboxed foreign films about gay cowboys dieing of AIDS.

Escape, go see this movie.

An extremely funny, dark comedy, making light of the recent trend in reality television shows.
3 March 2001
I watched the Series 7 trailer a couple of days ago and like many people, I was intrigued. I hate all of those reality based television shows like Survivor and Temptation Island (to name a few) and I thought this would be an ok parody of those shows.

What an understatement. I have not laughed this much in a theatre for a long time.

This movie takes every aspect and gimmick that makes reality television retarded and exaggerates it.

The basic premise of the movie is there are 6 contestants picked out by numbers that the government assigns to people. Those 6 contestants have to play the game and are all given a Glock 17 handgun. The only prize in the game is...... your life!

I would definitely recommend this movie to people who like dark comedies and have a twisted sense of humor. Some of the scenes are quite f*****d up and not for everyone.

Enjoy!

Not as good as the first, but still all round good horror cheese fest!

This movie was definitely not as good as the first one. There were too many parts that were slow and definitely not enough deaths to make it worthy of a sequel body count.

However, I do realize, (unlike some other people) that this is in fact a cheesy horror movie and so i watched it under this knowledge and laughed my ass off.

Good entertainment.

Remember, it's just a movie, have fun.

Great special effects, good acting, but 1 hour of good footage in between 2 hours of boring crap.

This movie starts out quite innocent enough. You get a good feeling from the tropical setting and the wonderful camera angles. This, however, seems to be all that the director is interested in doing.

There are action scenes, most memorable is the scene where the "good guys" take the hill from the "bad guys". This scene is full of suspense and builds up to the climax quite well.

This film falls apart by including to many "thought provoking" scenes where the characters contemplate life. (If I have to sit through one more scene where the camera pans around Nick Nolte for 30 mins. while he waxes idiotic I think I'll puke.)

This film would have been better, if not the best film of that year, if they had edited these "panorama" scenes down just a bit. Go watch Saving Private Ryan instead.
