Daughter of the Sun (2023)

Compelling and mystical story about a father's love.and the power of the human spirit

Everything about this movie is riveting. The story line slowly embraces your mind until you are under its spell. The cinematography presents visuals that are both dreamlike and starkly realistic, flooding the viewer with a sea of imagery. The characters portray a mysterious storyline while nevertheless displaying a realism that is undeniable.

The entire experience is like having a dream while you are awake, and as it nears it's completion all the threads of the story come together in an undeniably captivating conclusion.

Watch this film. It's unlike any other you've seen. It is an experience.

You will wish more were made with this level of brilliance.

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)

Okay. Now it's just getting stupid.

I get it. You go to an F and F movie you need to suspend belief. But there comes a point, and this movie goes well beyond it. It is so foolish, so illogical, so disjointed, that what once was a movie of guilty pleasure is now just stupid and embarrassing. I mean, a story line is supposed to make sense. Not just jump from one incident to another. It has no logical flow, instead being replaced with crashes and bangs. This franchise had been a fun ride. It is time to get off.

Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)

The. Tito a are as stupid as this movie is great.

DO NOT LOOK AT THE CRITIC REVIEWS. This is a great show. 4 hours wasn't long enough! I didn't know this franchise. Now I am more excited about it than the Avengers. Watch this movie. Enjoy. The user reviews have it right. Watch it.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Horrible waste of time.

Do not go to this movie. It is awful. The plot lines are ridiculous. There are so many holes that the movie makes no sense. They just create stuff out of thin air with no explanation. The acting was also weak, and the dialogue was trite and cliche'd. Please save your money and see something else. I wanted to leave after the first quarter. So disappointed I didn't. I am cross at the critics. They should have hated it more.

This was a lot of noise. Period.

Us (II) (2019)

Disappointing

Jordan Peele's "Get Out" was a fresh, snappy, smart movie with a valuable commentary on society. "Us", although an okay way to spend some time eating popcorn, was a much more run of the mill style horror/suspense movie. The main premise didn't really make much sense and had no explanation. Any "twists" were not that surprising nor did they leave you all that entertained. The acting was fine and there were some neat moments, but overall this fell way below what I expected.

Adventures in Public School (2017)

Surprisingly enjoyable and refreshing.

Coming of age high school movies are a well worn staple of the movie industry. Some are great (The Breakfast Club), others are not so much (Ladybird - great acting, but little new or fresh).

This film is funny, different, fresh, and interesting. The home schooled kid and his relationship with his mom are unlike anything else. The cliches of such movies are avoided, and in their place is just a pretty neat story. It won't win any Academy Awards, but is a great show to watch. Enjoy.
