Pinocchio (2022)
FOREVER A MASTERPIECE
First things first . Two words : TOM HANKS ! What a phenomenal choice for Gepetto!! Even though all I hear is an Italian Sheriff Woody I didn't even care. There is a warm feeling and charm that no one else could give his character than Tom himself. I massively appreciate the talent it takes to re create such mastery from the original Disney animators. The way this film is made is incredible. Dreamy, real and visually STUNNING all at the same time. The merging of animation with live action humans is flawless! The cinematography is a masterpiece all in itself. One of the finest live action remakes Disney has done. They did take out all the behaviors that were questionable from the original which was appreciated, it gave more of a child friendly feeling during the Pleasure Island scene. Still somewhat freighting though. As well as the Monstro scene
But kept you on your toes, for sure!
Will definitely watch again! WELL DONE.
Memory (2006)
Not like I remember
I came across this movie in my mid teens and really enjoyed it, I owned it on DVD as part of a horror movie set of 4, over the years, my dvd got lost and I constantly thought of this movie and ( no pun intended) couldn't truly remember the story line just that I enjoyed it and it was very thrilling and suspenseful for my 14 year old eyes. Today, after many years searching for this movie again on DVD I found it at BAM, for 3.95. I snatched it up naturally and raced home to watch it. The memory of this movie came flooding back to me as I watched I started putting the pieces back together of how it went. As an adult watching this and a movie lover, I honestly can say that this movie is still thrilling and suspenseful but lacks a certain element of action, and depth. I felt like some parts were too short in the main concepts of it and kind of lost me a few times within the story, I understood what was going on in the film it just lacked some character and even though it's been at least 10 years since I've seen this film I was calling all of the twists and turns in it. If there would have been more information given quickly in the beginning of the film, and less talking, the story would have been a lot smoother and wouldn't have seemed to drag a bit. I give this movie 3 stars because it's one that I've liked and was really excited to see again, but from an adult viewpoint it just didn't seem as exciting to me as it did when I was younger.
Full House: The Last Dance (1994)
Character Connections
In this episode we see a relative of Jesses arrive from Greece for unknown reasons, but within the time you see him (2-3 scenes) you love Papouli just like the Tanner family does, so once you find out he has passed away so suddenly you feel just as sad and at a loss. After seeing this episode roughly 50 times in my life, I am emotionally invested in each Full House character so if they are connected to Papouli like that, I am too and each and every time I've seen this episode I have most definitely cried like a baby. I am very impressed with the strong impression they give to Papouli from the beginning of the episode to show how special of a man he is to the family. This episode is also dark in content when the family has to handle a grieving loss and the emotion portrayed is real. One of the only episodes in which comedy or silliness was not in the fore front, but a more relatable situation that real families have had to handle. I give this episode 5 stars because of the instant connection to Papouli I had, and the portrayal of grief that was given by each character, I think they did an amazing job bringing the reality of something that's not widely talked about especially on a family sitcom.
