Dragon Ball Evolution Review

For many years not, the cult phenomenon Dragon Ball Z has been praised and fans have been dying for an effective and superb adaptation of the series. However, Hollywood made a smart decision in an attempt to begin the saga, Dragon Ball from the very start. 'Z' was to acknowledge a change in the series as we see the characters had matured. Now to the matter at hand. Dragon Ball Evolution is not a faithful adaption, neither is it a good one. So to make points seem fair to fans and non-fans alike I'll apply a 'For And Against Argument'.

Topic: Is Dragon Ball evolution a good movie? To answer that I would say no because I am a fan of the series but I am open minded and decided justify the movie as a whole, fan based and on its own merits.

For/ It is a good Movie .The special effects were not half bad .Ki attacks, while not looking like what fans hoped for was okay at best

Against/ Dragon Ball Evolution is a horrendous movie . Characters are not similar to the ones we have loved for so any years. . Characters such as Krillin, Kami and a few are missing . Goku Going to high school is a big deal as it destroys the entire character that is Goku along with other elements presented in this movie .The entire story is just plain dumb . Absence of character development . Action is toned and thus lack of excitement .Ki attacks, especially kamehameha blast is obnoxious to look at .Plain simple, fans are gonna hate it and I'm betting so is everyone else

Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008)

Better than the the other resident evil movies

Resident Evil Degeneration is Pretty solid on many levels when it comes to a movie:- 1. Good Voice acting- everyone seems to enjoy their dialogue and so does the audience 2. The story- while it doesn't live up to the stories of the RE games its still pretty good and not too predictable 3. The action - top notch. The action is well executed, stylish and not overdone. 4. The CGI- Visually amazing and a breakthrough for all cgi movies to come

The Bad:- 1. Leon- while he still is the zombie ass-kicking hero we love, his character is just out of place and so is his charming boyish face. He looks like he's in his 40's and way too stiff. I was just praying for him to punch a cheesy one liner but sadly he never does.

2. Claire- while she isn't useless in the movie she isn't given much screen time either. She's just there.

Overall, RE Degeneration is rock solid

Cowboy Bebop (1998–1999)

the best of the best

Cowboy Bebop is a series that should need no introduction to anime fans. However, for anyone unfamiliar with the show, it's basically about space bounty hunters set to an old time jazz music soundtrack with plenty of classy old time stories and dark morals along the way. If you like action, space, jazz, or comedy, you may like Cowboy Bebop. If you like old time bounty hunter, private eye, or detective movies, you'll probably like Cowboy Bebop. If you like dark stories with twists that really make you feel for the characters, you'll like Cowboy Bebop. This is one series you don't have to be an anime fan to appreciate, but you have to be willing to give it a fair chance.

A single episode of Cowboy Bebop packs more punch than a bruce willis movie. If you're not a fan of the show by the end of episode one alone, you probably won't be. The characters are as real as any old time bounty hunter / detective movie, and every bit as interesting. The sci-fi space twist doesn't take away from the show in the slightest, it adds much. A good way of thinking about the show is Lupin the 3rd mixed with Outlaw Star, with more depth. With episode titles like Asteroid Blues, Honky Tonk Woman, Waltz for Venus, and Jupiter Jazz, the space, class, and jazz heavy style is quite apparent from the beginning. This isn't just some theme slapped on top of an anime, rather a critical part of the show.

I Am Legend (2007)

i am legend rocks

This by far was one of the greatest films of 2007. I just loved it. The thrills, the action, the direction and to top it all Will Smith's best performance to date. Here in this film we have a post apocalyptic NYC and Robert Nevill( Will Smith) is the only man accompanied by his pet dog Sam. We have indeed heard most plots like these yet this movie goes far above the likes of 28 days or weeks later and i'm a big fan of those movies yet I like I am legend way better. Of course 28 days or weeks later has better thrills, more gore, better monsters and high octane scenes. Yet ( i can't believe a big fan of gore is saying this) I am legend is deeply emotional and focuses on its main character largely and the authenticity of a post apocalyptic world. But the best thing that I loved about this movie is that Will Smith's performance was pure brilliance. I only wished they could award him with an Oscar. Because he carried this film so well with great emotional performances and give a new definition to the post apocalyptic era. By far THIS IS THE BEST AND I MEAN IT. THE BEST POST APOCALYPT HORROR, DRAMA MOVIE EVER.

Dragon Ball Z (1996–2003)

best show ever

god this is by far my second favourite show. my first being naruto. anyway dbz is alomst perfect. the voice acting, the emotion the story that keeps u yearning for more and the cool action scenes. this is probably one of the best shows around. i mean whats to hate about it. its utterly almost flawless. except the only problems i see is that the villains were never really properly placed with personalities or any backdrops why they are this way. dbz focuses on the saiyan goku being the worlds strongest and the adventure that revolve around him. after hearing this u might say " hey this sounds simple, probably just plain entertainment. but its more than that. each episode is complex and a trademark by its own means. 10 out of 10. awesome show

TMNT (2007)

The greatest TMNT movies ever in my life.

I am not much of a big fan of the teenage mutant ninja turtles but I have seen all the movies in their franchise. And I have to admit that this is the best one so far. To tell you the truth this is the movie that inspired to comment on a movie for the past 8 months. To start it off the new plot for Tmnt was truly complex and new. The writers seriously thought of something worth watching. The characters were well voiced and 'acted out'. The relationship between Raph and Leo could not have been much more better than to settle it out with a meaningful fight. Even though the rest of the characters weren't too focused on I still this this movie is awesome. The violence was okay I guess but if it were PG-13 I bet Kevin Munroe would have seriously added a lot more violence too it. The villains were unique and were quite evil and 'human' at the same time. This ain't that usual plot with a crazy maniac in it. So to rap this movie up I say it's quite unique and deserves much more credit than it stands for. I hope it can get a 7. something on IMDb but I'm still pleased. 9/10 for me.

The Descent (2005)

I have never experienced anything like this

This is the greatest horror film i have ever seen. Maybe even better than Alien. We heard about the reviews and my wife being a horror lover decided to rent the movie. I was like this is dumb. But boy was i wrong. This film made me scared i almost fainted. The characters were so innocent and believable that you actually cared for them even though this is a far beyond fictional film. I mean most horror films are about sex,sex,sex and a lot of bad acting, bad directing, almost bad everything. Yet this film has some very good and convincing actors for a horror movie. The descent portarys to be a film of equal adrenaline rush, thriller and horror. This film makes most adrenaline rush action films look like a joke and the suspense is like a factor of your worst nightmare. The gore and screams are just right. The fight for survival is excellent. Neil marshall is an excellent working director. I kinda think this film should'a get a golden globe for best director. It sounds strange but honestly. This film is worth the time and thrill.

King Kong vs. Godzilla (1963)

One of the best Sci-fi monster movie of the 20th century

King Kong vs Godzilla was and still is one of the best Japanese monster movie ever. As we all know everyone loves these two monsters that have terrorized Japan with their huge menacing bodies. And we all want to know who wins, right? So 10 years after the first Godzilla movie was made, the King Kong vs Godzilla was the next hit. I love the whole idea of the story that sounds suitable and convincing enough to attract the audiences and two huge menacing monsters.

The special effects and animation is very powerful for a movie made in the 60's. The Japanese actors are very persuasive and you can think that they're in a real event. The total destruction of Tokyo could never be any better. The imagination of the director's mind speaks for itself in this movie. He totally wants you to get the whole idea of the monster battle between King Kong and Godzilla. The direction is realistic. So is the acting. But character development was never shown in this movie. But I guess that the battle is what it's all about.

The monsters were perfectly destructive and when they fought they sure crushed the city to its knees. This aspect of the movie makes the characters interact with the eventual situation well. That idea was well thought of. Some movies like these never show good interaction.

Except for my favorite scene being the battle between King Kong and Godzilla another was when the musical natives put King Kong to sleep. That was funny. Now about the hilarious moments in the movie. Well the movie was indeed serious business but some jokes relieve you from all the excitement which is good otherwise your head would start thinking what will happen next.

Most of the characters in the story play a good enough role but some are very useless. That is one of the worst part of the movie. Another is we still don't who won. This made me really mad because I was rooting for Godzilla. I mean that guy's got fire for breath, a long tail and huge teeth. What chance does Kong have.

Other than that this is a movie worth seeing if you love to see cities crumble.

Yu-Gi-Oh! (I) (2000–2006)

A descent anime that introduces a millennium of power and destruction

Yu-Gi-Oh is a fair enough cartoon with it's own clever plots. The main plot is one of a fantasy series that focuses both on the adults and children's. But most of the plots that are impressive, overdoes the childish behavior. The drawings are okay. Yu-Gi-Oh's drawings are normal just like any other anime.That is the human drawings. But the monsters are in good shape and have the potential destructive power whether tiny or huge in size. The characters have different qualities that make the show good but some of them spoils it and makes it useless to the series. Character development in the other hand is way better than Pokemon. The battling is clever and very impressive. It takes a lot of skills to play in order to be the victor. That must be the main reason I like Yu-Gi-Oh. The introduction is good and bad at times. The villains are very persuasive. Yu-Gi-Oh is recommended for boys from the age of 6 to 17. But the fans should not attempt to view because it is a disgrace to fans all over the world.

Pokémon (1997–2023)

It's wicked conspiracy brain washes too many kids

Pokemon has been my favorite show ever since I was 12 years. I used to love the old series but ever since the new series came out I was more in love with it. Even up to now, but it is a brain washer to kids filled with its hokey poky business. Pokemon does indeed have some good plots(at times). The setting is shear beautiful poetic art. The battle moves are intriguing but sometimes boring. My favorite is Ash. The kids has nerves of steel but his character development is quite too simple and bit critically insane.The legends are quite cool and unique in their shape but power show no kind of potential destruction. Introduction of people with interaction of Ash and friends is plain like normal persons do but it gets sickening and boring. The movies in the other hand is good. Elemental weakness sometimes seem unfair. Like when fire beats water.But this is good for kids. Not adults. Kids are unable to understand sometimes that is why. But once again it is fair enough.

The Matrix (1999)

Brilliant!!

The Matrix movie is special in action, plot, character quality, and a big hit phenomenon. The special effects are never before seen and outrageous beyond all standards of action sci-fi movies. Direction and Action is spectacular far beyond Steven Spielberg' Saving private Ryan. The whole idea of the movie is shear brilliance and could Kenuea Reeves be more perfect for Neo. His acting is what makes this movie a terrific one. The rest of the characters are unmatched, uncommon and rare. Even the plot is rare and well thought of. It's movies like this that make you feel great to live in this era. Two thumbs and toes up! 9 out of 10.

Shaolin Soccer (2001)

Good 7 Out of 10 movie.

I like to call this movie shaolin soccer since the original name is a little hard to pronounce. Anyway back to the topic. Shaolin soccer is hilarious with well plotted events, kung fu was a shout out and perfect for the big game, soccer. I'd like to say that Steven Chow is an excellent director and actor. In his movie you can really think that characters are real because unlike American films his character even make some of the slightest moves rather than jumping on to the events. Like while someone talks instead of watching and keeping their faces straight they make some slight movements like twitching their noses or digging them. So if the direction was excellent then so is the acting. The character development is gooood. Now the movie. Who knew Kung Fu could be used for so many ways instead of just violence. Amazing isn't it. Steel Leg and Steel Shirt are my favorites. This movie is way better than a lot of movies. It is better than even the famous bullet dodging Matrix. The CGI animation is well set and visuals are brilliant. Way cool.

V for Vendetta (2005)

A action movie of shear brilliance and very poetic

V, stands for vengeance,vendetta,villain and victim. All these names are the main reason this movie is a masterpiece. The name,V expresses all the events that are happening in London. Now that is shear brilliance. The action is one of a kind. Not only the punches and kicks are sorted out in style but so is the co-ordination. The direction itself is basically a professional attribute. The characters draws you to the story's main idea and they are unique in ways different from other movie. My favorite character is V because he is flamboyant, literary, a fighter for freedom, and makes the movie so great. The plot and tag line, both complicated and epical but once you see the movie you get the idea. In watching the movie for a good hour in the theater I thought V would have sought for a normal revenge. But not.He plotted his revenge steps ahead the police and the government. I even felt sorry for the bad guys. The director really made V and them connected by sorrow. My advice is that if you love the Matrix then you'll love this. To me this is better than the matrix!

Naruto (2002–2007)

Never will there be an anime as great as this

Naruto is...how to say? Magnificent, glorious and entertaining. Its almost flawless in the way it presents itself. The overall story is new and refreshing. The characters are inspirational and beautifully portrayed. The fight scenes ae overall breathtaking and neat. The drama in here is very emotional and moving. The jokes are well executed but sometimes overdone. Most people complain how most of the characters are unreal. But who cares. Their fun and feel real once you give the show a chance. If you ain't an anime fan then give this show a chance. Those who are anime fans will simply love it. There is nothing really to hate about it. Pure perfection. 10/10

Critters 4 (1992)

This is one of the worst Critters' movie ever!

This is a disgrace to the name of all of the lovable and laughable Critters' saga. Why do the writers feel the need to make the movie unbearable to watch by all quality standards. The Critters are cute and adorable as ever but deadly behavior has been transformed into that of a killer baby. They aren't as terrifying, gruesome, some what spine -chilling and funny as they were portrayed in the movies before. I used to love their porcupine shots but now it is hidden as if it was thought to be repetitive and boring. And what is with the killing and not eating. I thought this movie would have been cool but everything was so wrong. Why did Ug have to be evil and killed by that which is known as Charlie. This movie sickens me. Disgrace! Disgrace! DISGRAAAAAAACE!!!!

The Batman (2004–2008)

A masterpiece of a new era of batman

Dear fellow commentators(especially the bad ones) I think that you should be ashamed of yourselves how you commented on The Batman. Really, can't you people not understand the meaning of hard work to make The Batman great in its new fashion. This Batman shows a lot about Bruce's life as a young civilian. I'm not saying the older Batman series were uncool but this one is better to some and equal to other people. Why do people of the new generation behave this way. Batman has been a great legendary hero for years. Now that it has been brought to life after these long years why do people complain. How would you feel to be born since the 1930s and never get to see much of these series. The Batman series is an excellent way to display Bruce Wayne/Batman in his younger age. It also focuses on the other characters equally. This series even show where and how he got his technologies. I mean did the other Batmen before showed this quality. I've always wanted to know how Batman met Batgirl and the great attribute about this show is that the cops actually pay attention to Batman as a vigilante. The art and color are quite interesting and the music is spine chilling. The action, now This I like. I love the new Bat weapon the BatBot. This weapon's really cool. The villains are awesome especially Bane, The Joker( His jokes are funny and at least this time he puts up a fight),The Riddler and ManBat and Penguin. Now for Batwoman. Her costume looks really stupid but when you think about it she's a young kid. I mean really do you think someone who lives in an ordinary home design something like this costume. This show also portrays a lot about Bruce's past and present life. Also Alfred is now payed more attention to for once or maybe,actually twice but still. My last words are that this show is great and people should pay more attention but then again the show was made for children. 10 out of 10. Excellent plan Warner Bros.

Blank Check (1994)

GOOD enough to get you thinking millions!!!

First of all the movie, is an ingenious work of art(movie). The plot was filled with surprises, a little kid pretends to be a grown up inherits one million dollars and how he spends it. I mean how whacked out is this. Walt Disney really outdid themselves this time. The comedy is most of the times expected but the other times unexpected. I mean was this movie OK or was this movie OK. It also teaches a lot about wise youths and I this kid is really wise and a bit time smart pants. But also it sucks. How the heck could a guy like that kid get a hot police babe and his dad let him go free. That's like let a killer get bailed free for ten years. If I were to do that I'd get beaten with a 'suble jack'(a huge stick that stings when used to bench your butts really hard). That kid is really lucky. Back to the story. The movie makers really knew what they were doing when they made this movie but still it's not perfect. The acting was good and bad. The kid and woman had no chemistry neither did the father but the bros were excellent'. The special effects on the other hand was lame. Plus this movie isn't based on reality. I hated and loved it at the same time.

Teen Titans (2003–2006)

A blend of Anime and American cartoon rocked this world to life!!!!!

Aw man! When I first saw this series I felt so happy and thrilled that Anime and America joined forces to accomplish one of the biggest hits ever! This series has a lot of action and hilarious crude humor and some new ones. My favorite character is Robin because Teen Titans expresses a lot of crisis that Robin faces as a leader and having to deal with his dark-side gives an edge to new superheroes. The Robin and Starfire relationship is a great essential plot to most of this series. Raven is a new superhero that brings the meaning of sacrifice to television. I love her too even though she is not my favorite because Robin is a great leader who cares much about his friends than himself. Anyway back to Raven. Without her, Teen Titans wouldn't be Teen Titans. Her scary and dark past makes you go crazy, you want to know more about her each time an episode shows. I love her power. Even though she could still take over the world she is still vulnerable because unlike the Justice League series where people tend to die, Teen Titans does not show about that kinda quality. I still think she is powerful and next is Cyborg. Cyborg is a new class of teen heroes equipped with the latest technology and is really funny. He and BB really make the show running and I mean it Literally. I feel so sorry for Cyborg most of the times because he never got the chance to feel how it is to be a man until he finally figured that out in Episode#39: Titans East part two. But still I guess he would love to be human. Beast Boy is really hilarious and tries to fit in and make everyone understand him but every time he does he screws it up by accident. But hey his powers fit perfectly with his whacked out and cool style. Last but not least cute little alien Starfire. Now she is a new breed of superheroes today. I love her personalities the most. Her main problem is trying to cope up with earthly situations which Justice League does not show at all with that dumb and ugly Martian the Manhunter. That show is so serious and you sometimes get bored to death because they are old adults which normally is focused on by movie makers. I mean come on Teen Titans is the first DC comic television show that really focuses on teenagers which I truly appreciate. This show is really great and focuses on true life events and crisis that happens and now have turned it into a bunch of teenage superheroes with problems in different styles. Teen Titans is a really 'supercalifragilsiticexpealidocius' show.(I really wanted to express my feelings towards this show and this word is perfect for America's #1 hit show) I hope that the rumors are true because I really miss this show.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Great summer movie

I have been waiting to see this movie for a long time since I'v heard of it but I must admit, I heard about all the news about how some people said it was good and some said bad but Iknew that I would have to make my own alternative. And like most superheroes say being a superhero doesn't mean all the fancy power and suit and everything else, it's a tremendous sacrifice that one must make and when the time has come you will make your choice that will either save or destroy humanity. And I made my choice that this movie was great in every prospect. The action was like new to the word and the drama was ultimately played well by Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen when Jean at the last scene was willing to die and Logan was willing to sacrifice his love(Jean) for the human race. Brett Ratner really knew what he was doing when he signed up for the movie. X-3 didn't show much about the characters but I guess when two movies have already been made you don't need much. The great feature of all superhero movies is that no matter how it is done a sacrifice and choice must be made to determine whether the heroes are just pathetic wannabees or people who care. X-men 3 really portrayed what being a superhero really meant. This movie certainly deserves an Oscar award and a lot more than just one nomination but I guess time will come. I hope there will be a sequence to the X-men trilogy and I hope the same director can be in charge. Because without him, Hugh and Halle and the rest of the actors this movie would have never been made a movie to cherish.

Like Mike 2: Streetball (2006 Video)

A great funny family movie

I have seen this movie and my comment is that this movie is worth your time and money. It's moral is really important and the comedy and basketball moves are new and funny. This movie is way better than the first one. The acting was O.K, the acting in part one was better too(especially Lil' Romeo). the basketball moves were totally perfect. This movie has a lot more focus on the characters, not too much on the shoe. This movie has a great script and the effects were electrifying. This movie even had a lot of characters which is really hard to put in any movie but this one, this one was the king of all. Jascha Washington was a great actor and performed in his role really good. Micheal Beach's play was exactly how most basketball fathers are in actual life. For the first time in this movie the mother was wrong and the father was right. This was really surprising. I love Kel Mitchell. He made the movie really great with him being a player and all. I love it when they call him family and someone always say even him himself, "I'm Jerome's cousin's ex-boyfriend's brother. This movie was the bomb.

Hollywood Homicide (2003)

Man! does this movie rock!

Hollywood Homicide is about two LAPD police officer, one that takes his job seriously but wants to be an actor and the other hates paperwork. Now when a group of rappers are killed these two guys are brought in to investigate. Now that is a good plot for a movie like this(it is not what I wrote, i made a summary out of the plot). This movie is really funny and filled with gun,car and hand to hand violence. The actors are perfect for their roles and the movie has a goo script. Not to mention that the comedy was suitable for an action movie like this. I love the action. The action scene that was mixed with comedy was when Kasey was chasing the Afro-American guy and he jumped into the duck pond. Now that was funny.

The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)

The greatest unrated movie ever

The Dukes of Hazzards is the greatest unrated movie ever. I love it. The car action! the sexual content was really funny and the language too. I never payed much attention to car action but this movie made me fall in love. The normal action movies have just fighting and maybe a bit car action but this movie totally rocked!!!! I loved all of the stunts. My favorite car scene was when Bo was angry and made a really high jump in Atlanta, my favorite sexual content piece was in college and my favorite comedy part was when Luke shot the arrow at the safe and it blow up causing the Dukes and Sheev to fly. The General Lee was a real beauty(too bad it is a 'he'). The characters' life were really amazing, Bo, a good-hearted kid, Luke, a funny guy and daisy, a beautiful young lady. Not to mention, this movie was surprising, when they said this movie was unrated I didn't know that they meant women were half naked or so much swearing. This movie was really surprising. I would say it is an evolutionary PG-13 movie

A Sound of Thunder (2005)

A masterpiece of true science fiction

I have seen this movie and think that everything was excellent, the acting, tag line, acting, the make ups(well, to be honest I do not know how they create the creatures) and especially the special effects. The most awesome effect was the one when time always move slowly. This movie is an okay one especially since it is PG-13. I also love the characters and creatures. The creatures, now that was wicked! I loved it. This movie also focused a short time on the characters but for some reason I felt that it was enough. I loved Jenny and Travis. Edward and Jemima acted really great together. Not to mention the rest of the actors including them really made the movie great. The most enjoyable part was the mystery and by mystery I mean when the butterfly messed up the future. I mean, well to me that one mistake made the whole movie great, the city was becoming a 65 million year old jungle. The futuristic setting was not that amazing but the jungle, now that is apiece of work. My most favorite creature was the huge prehistoric gorillas. There designs were great. Oh! yeah! not to mention the gun.That was outstanding. This is one of my favorite sci-fi movie. Some people could pay attention to this movie and not think about, "Hey this movie sucks". They should be think, "Ok this movie may be great or not but it is OK". So once again this movie is great.

The Fog (2005)

I found out even some more faults in this movie!

You know, people are right, I was so stupid to buy the DVD and it's not worth watching. I kept on watching and watching and it got boring. Normally when I buy a horror movie I can watch it a hundred times and still never get bored. If two months have passed and I watch a horror movie I would remember all the suspense and still get scared. Last two weeks I saw the 1980's Fog I found it better to watch. I first gave this movie 8 out of 10 for trying, some good effects and that they were able to draw in some good actors. But this film, what is it worth. I mean after 25 years of waiting this is what we get. A stupid, Idiotic with a capital 'I'. The director of this movie should definitely be fired. He made Tom look like a pathetic actor and what the hell is with putting in Slma Blair. Maggie is lame at acting and the movie makes Selma look lamer. When I looked carefully at The Fog(2005) The actors looked like, like idiots. Another thing, the original's ghost looked a lot scarier since they were real people in make up and the remake's one is stupid. What an embarrassment to technology and the original. The ending made me want to vomit. I mean, what was that. These people even tried to make the movie scary but the movie makers' heads were filled with bricks and mud. What was the sex scene worth in the movie. That was totally not needed. Man I loathe this movie!

Akira (1988)

One of the most excellent anime movie ever

I saw this movie and to me it is one of the most greatest anime movie ever made. The art is excellent, the action is amazing for a 1988 movie and the plot and everything else is extraordinary. I have watched this movie for over 20 times and still it never gets boring. I keep on watching it and still find something new every single time. The one excellent quality of this movie was that the setting was really cool and one more, this movie is filled with unexpected events. This movie also shows a lot about the main character's and others' life whether its good or bad or both. If you get a chance to buy this movie then I suggest you do so because you'll never regret saying this is the best anime movie ever.
