The Plague (2006)
different deep cult movie
I thought The Plague was a good movie. Various times through the film we are pointed out that the children are soul collectors and that, depending on our feelings, these are what they absorb. Its logical that most people die with fear, anxiety, panic, violence until the main character gives himself in with a tremendous feeling of love which then is transmitted through the children's unified mind. That way they respect the main character's soul mate.
I know a previous poster has explained this in other terms, and i totally agree, but there is an enormous amount of posters that have hated the movie and i believe that is because they probably wanted a movie to sit back and relax too. Like the Chaos Theory, the movie leaves a stepping stone out that the viewer has to fill in. The war on terror? terrorism? the world is going down the drain and the children absorb the education we give them. This movie is a metaphor, loosely explained, making it deep (free interpretation of what's destroying this world), different (it's a Clive Barker pseudo Gothic Stephen Kingesque apocalyptic film) and ready for cult status (as the stepping stone is left out for all followers to gather together and agree on). I give it a 7. A good movie but not for all dreamers.
Martial Law 9/11: Rise of the Police State (2005)
interesting
I found this documentary interesting. It is ample as you may find all commentators will agree and disagree with some of the points made. From attacking communists to attacking the supposedly fascist conspiracy ruling America and the world today, the extras even include torture by the police towards a pro-life demonstration. Alex Jones does lack professionalism but it is interesting seeing him criticize Michael Moore and the actually state of US policy with good points made too. I can only describe his politics as populist.
Schwarzenegger for president, the Nazis ties to the current political elite, the 9/11 truth commission, the bohemian grove sect, it's all there. I recommend this documentary to anyone interested in a bit of amateur journalism mixed with the greatest intent of institutionalizing conspiracy theories.
Flight 93 (2006)
How many kids can you see?
Was there someone on Flight 93 that didn't have children? In every phone call seen on screen all relatives and friends have small children in their arms or playing by the phone. Is this a fact? Or some Fox TV bias to tender hearts to a tragedy that doesn't need to be beefed up. I felt sorry for what happened on flight 93 watching this movie, but was constantly distracted by the focus on the loving family side (children included)and the references to Iranians. Maybe something from the background of the hijackers would have been good too as a historical account.
