Arrival (2016)
Unique movie
The way that this movie was executed was unique to say the least. The plot, the characters and everything else was really something that you don't usually see. Sometimes it may feel odd but this level of uniqueness was something executed well.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
The best episode of an underwhelming season
There's a reason that this episode is rated above episode 4 and 6. Episodes 1,2 and 3 are all made in a safe way. Merely simple character development or battles.
Episode 5 was something extremely untraditional. If a viewer didn't pay attention to character development, they'll easily miss plot twists and quickly hate the episode. But if you did pay attention to the changes and the development of characters, it's not as subversive as people say.
Lastly the level of emotion portrayed in this episode is a call back to the older seasons. Acting was excellent. Maisie Williams in particular, one of the best performances of the season.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
An excellent film with insanely unique filmography
An excellent piece. The level of emotion portrayed and the way it was filmed, it is a memorable film that made the viewer feel so many emotions at once. The idea of a washed up actor and his story isn't new, but the execution of this film was.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
The only reason you'd rate this 1/10 is if you didn't pay attention and where to busy writing fan fiction.
Don't get me wrong, this season is definitely the worst, by far. However, regardless of what people say about too many subversions, it's a mediocre but entertaining episode. Characters who never wanted to do X things never did X things. Characters who've always showed an affinity to Y, do Y. It's actually somewhat consistent with the characters, there are definitely mistakes and it's bad when you compare it to the great old seasons. But it's still fairly entertaining if you're unbiased.
