Creepy but lacking
5 June 2019
Mannn, I really wanted to fw this movie, it had a lot going for it. Fresh concept, good acting, creepy atmosphere, original scares, minimal jump scares. But the story execution felt kinda lacking fam, can't lie. It takes waaaayyyy too long for the protagonist to clock the frigging station's haunted and to just leave, nothing long. Kinda seems like after a while you don't know what's really real and when you get to the end you still don't know which is frustrating

I guess I'd say I'd recommend it, just for the creepy imagery and that but its not like a top notch banger

EPIC BUT FLAWED MONSTER BANGER
4 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So I watched this in 4DX and I gotta say, it was immersive as a mother lover. First time around I was taken aback by how good the special effects were, especially compared to the first one which I'd watched before this one, there's been a huge leap. Them Kaiju looked REAL breddrin!

It was good to see Ken Wantanbe back on job, good acting all around. They've made this one way more funnier than the first, well, tried to, I dunno, I preferred the drama but that's just me.

Also felt like there was a few unnecessary sacrifices of characters along the way. Anndddd in the first one a lot of the kaiju fights were frame from wide and far away angles and really got the scale of the armshouse that's going done, but in this one, although there is more monsters, it's more up close.

There are so really iconic moments in this movie, trust me, you don't wanna miss it. The score was good too, I like how they used Godzilla's infamous theme when man got juiced up, but I also miss the theme from the last movie. Conflicted I know lol. All in all, if u like disaster monster movies, this tings does the job

3 TIMES BUMBA CLART CHARM
15 May 2019
Mannnn, this might be my favourite of the series. I know what we're all here for. The friggin action and trust me there's tons of it.

What I really liked was the fact the story was a natural progression and didn't feel forced. They took all the characters including man like John in a different direction as well

Hol' Tight anyone that loves dogs cos this is the move for you

I'm really tryna skirt around any spoilers but lemme just say this; best antagonist of the trilogy

You feel the scale and weight of the films story as it progresses.

This one here is slyly my favourite one of the trilogy, can't lie.

If you're a fan of John Wick or action films you will not be disappointed

UNDERRATED BANGER
13 May 2019
Oh my f-cking days, this movie was incredible. Ok, yeah it's got a bit of a The Thing vibe, cold environment, isolation, don't know who to trust etc, that's where it ends though.

I don't think I've seen a more original concept for a horror movie monster.

The writing here is sooo detailed and you never feel like you're taken out of it from some dodgy one liner. The fear that's amassed here is subversive and creative. For ages I was like, yo, what's happening here, but it's all worth it.

Only down side was that maybe it could of been paced better, like it kind of feels like it takes 40 minutes for things to really kick off, but when they do, they really do

The ending might leave some viewers unfulfilled but I really fw it heavy. It was different but didn't take you out of the story

Yeah, don't watch the rating on this one, 5.1 or whatever is waaayyyyy too low. I've given it a 9 to boost it up cos any real horror fan will definitely want to be deeping this one

GROUNDED HORROR BANGER
12 May 2019
Mannn, this Mike Flanagan brer has been on job from day one.

The scares in this film are subversive, the first one literally come out of nowhere. Ok, yeah I know, it's low budget but by the first 10 minutes you'll get over the low budget nes of it.

The acting was on point, sound design and score banged too. The atmosphere was creep af.

For best effect, watch alone with the lights off at night, preferably on a Sunday so you can mull it over while you're at work the next day

Kind wish it was a little longer and we got a bit more from the big bad and the lore, that's the only reason mans not giving it a 10, but besides that? Yeahhhh bro, this films gonna mess you up nicely

Fight Club Reloaded but without the good stuff
11 May 2019
Bro. This ting got 6,8? Nahhh, I feel parred. What a waste of time. I'm sorry. Ok, lemme start with the good stuff at least. The cinematography was decent, there was some interesting angles and for the first 20 minutes or so I was very intrigued and thought I was gonna be in for a very cerebral sci fi thriller.

It must of been about half way down the line I'd figured out the whole plot and the ending. Maybe mans just watched too many movies, but the movies this one I was ripping off are bait ones.

This ting is essentially the matrix with a the fight club twist but with none of the action or commentary on modern western civilisation.

None of the characters had any motivation. Why did the main character need to do blank? Maybe we'll find out la- oopp, guess not!

Fam; it's soooo matrix-esq you could probably do a side by side for the moments they was tryna recreate here. Even the bloody garms are similar.

I was gonna give this a 4 cos it looked decent but then I thought nah g, this gets a 3. I mean the acting was cool dialogue was average.

This film is dead food

Kinda like a Black Mirror episode but longer
19 April 2019
Ok boom, ima start by saying I would of given this 6.5 cos it's not really a 7. Don't get me wrong, it's decent but they could of made the characters more deep. They ain't one dimensional exactly but they're probably 2 dimensional if that makes sense.

It's quiet a grounded movie so when some tings happen in office scenarios you think to yourself "rahh, if that happened at the work place I'd call HR" and it kinda takes you out of it cos it's so bloody clever.

They try to throw this plot twist in which you could probably see coming a mile away but in imo? They coulda hid that ting way better bro

Ok, I know it seems like I'm cussing this film out but don't get me wrong; it still bangs, some interesting ideas and the actors do their ting with what they've been given to work with. It is black mirror vibes for sure but colder if that makes sense? You'll deep what I mean when you see it
