Sex Education (2019)
Original, but not exceptional
I was surprised about the reviews. Everybody is blaming the 3 seasons and agree that first two 2 seasons were original.
First of all, in each season, sex everywhere. If your usual appropriate teen school show display 5-10% of the real world 'happenings', in this show it was at least 300% of the real world.
For me after the 1 season, it was just over the top. It's like they could have end it and the story would have been perfect in a season. It was crazy, completely original and absolutely remarkable.
However, they continue, 'let's see if there is more to it'.
The story and the characters were not made for 3 seasons. I think it was intended to be a one-season mind-blowing shoot. Because of this it was painful to watch how the characters changed and some parts of the important story were forgotten (Lily's problem and Otis's fear) -> major consistency issues.
After the first season whole things become a comedy, where you can't really take anything real.
- One day the dude was nerd and next day he is desired by the hottest girl in the school.
(Also, as a simple man, I would have enjoyed just some simple relationships. Probably there are fewer straight relationships in the shows than any other.)
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
The Art is remarkable, but the dialogs not
The art is beyond exceptional. Period.
However the story, when i separate it from the the amazing art, the masterpiece goes to great series.
The first 2 episode was 6-7/10, yeah the 3 episode was real great but i fear that we had our best at end of the 3 episode in the entire series. Without spoiler the typical "they let the monster out, now what can happen?" scene happened and those who watch series regularly knows it never really goes beyond after that in "excitement".
The characters, to be honest, the dialogs from them, were little too poor. I mean, come on, the game has some many great dialogues and i never even laughed during the first 3 episodes or thought i just heard something real cool. That's a problem.
Yes, the hype is real, the world what Arcande create is outstanding, but you won't go away with more after the 3 episodes.
Monster House (2006)
Little weird but still one of the best animated horror moives
I think the story is original and scary enough enough even for adults.
However
Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I felt that the animation wasn't that smoothly.
Some scenes were annoying to watch because of it.
And the characters relationship also bothered me, two friend who don't go on the same frequency and a girl who is a total stranger to them.
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Confusing, predictable but a classic
I have just watched the movie for the first time and I have to say without a doubt it's a classic, if you haven't seen it, you should.
However I wouldn't watch it again...here is why:
-Stop-motion animation > plot: The whole movie is 1 hrs long and for this story, it's too less, so you won't really get a wholesome plot, only just a great ending.
-I think some essential parts are missed(doors between the holiday worlds, Jack and oogie boogie relationship, Sally's vision(the burning flower)))
-What is the moral of the story? "Don't fill your emptiness with something which can only cause more." Really??
It's a "family chrismas movie", but I wouldn't watch this with someone, who is under 18, not because it's too scary, it's just very hard to follow or take something from it even with an adult's eye.
Hilda (2018)
It's good but not that good
The score would be 6,8
It's got so many great reviews and I don't why("Yeah it is a great one, but you just have to endure the first couple of episodes" quote from reviews). I mean it's not that bad at all, but I could not rewatch a sesaon or even watch an episode twice and sometimes I got real bored during watching an episode.
I can sum up the show
in one sentence without any spoiler: "Keep your friends and have a great relationship with your parents." This is the main thread and the stories just building this up, no matter how cool they are, they will always end up with this track in the end. I'm not saying that this makes the story preditcible, because it does not, It just gets real boring for me after a while.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014)
First you think it's good then you reliase
After finishing the movie, I was like "ok, it's funny one, the story is not so bad and the animation is fantastic" then I reliased. Who is the target audience? Kids, right? No, because in the end the moral of the story is "let your kid grow up". There is almost no mortality for children in this one.
However, I would find very hard to believe that this movie can be watched without skipping a few minutes here and there with a normal adult brain. Many cliché and predictable story. So in the end, you can only enjoy the animation and the perfect Mr. Peabody.
The Secret Life of Pets (2016)
Well animated, but the story...
The animation was exceptional and jokes were original, but the story...this movie could have got a so much better plot I mean if you are familiar with the common story flows(Main role lives his life,Something happened to him,Lose almost everything and gain even more) then you won't be surprised.
Because of the crappy story I don't think this movie worth more than 7 stars.(One time movie).
John Wick (2014)
Slow header but strong body
The show starts pretty slowly it took 15-20 minutes to meet our first action scene in an action movie. However after 15 minutes this show is full of memorable sentences and happenings. It totally worth its 7,5 stars(I gave 8, because of ...)
The End of the F***ing World (2017)
"Run boy run this world wasn't made for you"
I want to run away from everything and hope everything will be better somewhere else, but as this series showed this is just a fairy tail which was created by our mind to ease our burdens. Excellent show!
Stranger Things (2016)
Strange things 3 "one summer can change everything" and it did so what?
Season 1 and Season 2 blah blah
Why are there so many forced love scenes in this movie?
It is Season 3, so we can't expect the same characters and the same mindset, because the main roles are mostly consist of youngsters(age 10-20). That's why the bone of this season wasn't that outrages(Love)(Hello! There are six teenagers in the show, of course there will be lot of love conflicts).
The plot is weak and not worty to the original "Stranger things"?
Yes, this is the same monster and the story is kinda familiar with the season two(open the gate, beat the big monster and close the gate), but there are lot of refreshing things in this movie which most of the "it is a garbage season" people tend to forget. For example the Mall(it gave a whole new world to the show), the new characters(Robin is kinda cool, Lucas' little is sister is adorable and pointful), Russian plot(which was quite weak in this environment, but still it was exciting to watch). It's a comedy in its strange way, so there will be a few completely unrealistic scenes(Russian never touched Robin during the torturing, expect Eleven leg the main roles are either get killed or were never touched by any monster) . The scenes with the monster were actually quite unique(in the hospital and in the mail)(the monster was a new, because it had a body which was build by using people bodies and rats bodies(And it wasn't scary at all? Tell me more)).
Some of the main roles died ... and new characters were born.(Keeping the plot exciting and Interesting), so in the end one summer really did change everything.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Indina Jones with weak plot
After one hour the moive gets really boring, because the plot is kinda weak.
The Loudest Voice (2019)
A little bit slow, but still great
The first episode was pretty slow and nothing really happened (we just saw how the main role(Roger) gets a lot of people hired). Many great action movie starts with this "hiring the best guys" part, but it took 50 minutes here.
Taxi Driver (1976)
A lonely man and that's it
I didn't get anything from this movie. There is a lonely man who drives a taxi and try to avoid his loneliness somehow (What is so special about it?). I don't think this movie worth more than 6 stars.
Euphoria (2019)
Too realistic to get high rating?
Everyone likes when they can easily follow the plot and makes sense from it after 10 minutes. Unfortunately this movie is not one of these, because it is quite realistic. For this simple reason lots of people would rather give it a lower rating and described it as a "typical high-school show" than admit that most of these modern problems are pretty relevant in 2019 and that's what makes this show be so great!
